For some it's people that are on the water twice a month. Others think hardcore bowfishermen are the ones on the water 4+ times a week, spend more money on the sport than their wives, and leave their boats bloody because it's an accomplishment...and because it's pointless to wash it when it's getting bloody again that night. Based on what I consider hardcore there's probably only a handful in each state, obviously Texas and the Midwest having a few more than the desolate (ND, SD, MT...) and the coastal states. How many people grab a bow and chase at least one fish around each year? A whole lot more. Which number is more important? The total number of people who bowfish/ attempt to bowfish each year, they're the ones that make us look like a sizable group whose opinions should be heard.

Good point would you consider me "hardcore" hualing fish with my bike, building model bowfishing boats, and shooting off a v-hull with a wood deck? It really depends on your definition.

Several people here in Missouri. I know 10 guys with boats just for bowfishing within 10 miles of my house.

I need to move back to my hometown then, who would have known Lincoln County would have so many Bowfisherman.

I have bow fished in west central Florida for almost 35 years and know of only a handful of others who do. Not including the friends who shoot with me, I have seen exactly 2 others over the years.
