I have or had some family that lived on Winona Lake up there, so I think I know about how far north you are. I would say the Wabash or White River would be closer to you. Both have silvers and bigheads, lots of them.

If you want to shoot the silvers out of the air and get your boat tore up, body bruised up, equipment trashed... Come to the Illinois River... Shoot all you can!! :tu:

Yea, I'm undecided if that even seems like fun to me or not. I think I would prefer to stick with the night time, troll up in stealth mode and ambush them with a spotlight method. Jumping fish, bruises, broken bones, torn up equipment, etc. has me reconsidering whether to even try that method. It is fun to watch on TV and YouTube though. I remember that one episode where that hot little brunette got her jaw broken by one of those fish jumping into the side of her face while she was at full draw. That would not be fun at all. Some pain with an Asian would be tolerable, but it would not involve bowfishing or even fish at all for that matter.

Sorry! :eek:t:

i live in southwest missouri i fish the gasconade river it is a northflowing river that flows into the missouri. i recently had a big head jump into my boat =( im an avid angler so the introduction of this fish into my river is bad news

I am pretty sure it was a silver...not a bighead.... Either way it sucks!

There are silvers and bigheads in the Wabash all the way to Ft. Wayne. Either drive east or south from Warsaw and you will run into the Wabash- there are bigheads and silvers in there. The farther south on the Wabash you go the more Asian carp you will find, but they are becoming highly populated throughout the Wabash.

Isnt Markland dam up around Warsaw? You should have plenty of asains right there. Seems the Ky river is in the area too if I remember right.....been a few years.

I'm in Ft. Wayne and actually fish the 3 rivers here... only have seen silvers once up here.
Fished the HBC night tourny though...LOTS of asian bigheads and silvers over there and your not far.
Are you fishing from shore or in a boat?
