It's all about arrow speed--it takes a higher peak weight to make a high let-off bow shoot a fishing arrow as fast as a lower poundage no let-off bow. It's a no brainer.
I really hadn't thought about that until tonight.. Makes sense though... Any idea how much difference in speed it will make set at 45#'s changing from 80% to 60% let off??

TTG can answer that better than me but I don't think 80>60 is gonna help you very much.

Like OBG said...80% to 60% isn't going to help you very much.Any decrease in let-off will help but I can tell you from experience that you wont be happy unless you knock as much of it in the head as you possibly can.The only way to do that is with 10's and 11's.I don't know if it's possible but if it is then someone needs to make some zero % let off mods.I would pay a hundred dollar bill for a set if I had to.

I put my bow on 45 lbs and cant hit a fish, I shoot 180lbs fish with scales thicker than any fish yall have 10-20 yards from the boat. I shoot fish 4-7 feet down with less than 30 lbs... I dont think anyone is as good of a shot on higher poundage, than less... I dont see it..But of course yall shoot them bigheads I have shot some on 30 lbs, but I dont know much..
Well said!

AND 6... THEY BY GOD SHOULDN'T MARK THEM 55# BOWS IF THEY WON'T DO IT!! That's the point here.. It doesn't matter if anyone thinks that's overkill or not!! It doesn't matter if you can kill with less.. I can to.. But I want my other 10 pounds I expected and paid for!!! The point is.. It is not putting out.. I posted on here just to make sure it wasn't something stupid I was doing.. But NO! I don't care if the koolaid just got pissed in!!!

WOW ill just stick with my 50lb kingfisher this all sounds so complex. DRINKING THE WATERD DOWN APPLE JUICE BABY:grin::grin:

If your that upset about it, sell it to me because it sounds like it ought to go down to around 25#s which is what I shoot.....THEN u can call Oneida, ***** em out, and get u a 30-50# bow....maybe even labeled right haha

yeaaaaaaaaa I think the problem is ........this guy is a big ole P*ZZY and oneida knew he would eventually end up with this bow and they didn't want him to throw out his arm and catch a lawsuit so they purposefully changed limbs and labeled it wrong. Im pretty sure I hit a long nose gar about 35 lbs buried it 3 inches from the nock @ 20 yards......pretty sure it hits hard enough.
