outboard jet wouldn't do much better than a standard outboard I'f there's rocks involved. Need a long tail or surface drive with a nice scag plate. I'f you are interested in a pro drive let me know, I have a buddy that has a 29hp thats local. Might be able to beef up the motor to get it to a 35hp fairly cheap.

I agree, run a bunch of different kinds. Rather you go long tail or surface, get as much power as you can possibly afford then like brady said. Mine is fun, but they're running a special on 4200 mbs right now and I sure want to write em a check. You saw how mine handled those rapids that day. I still don't know how to drive it yet, and my clutch was slipping like hell. It was chewing rocks up and chunking them everywhere!

That's funny, I've had mine for 7years not one problem. Other then you're typical stuff plugs, wires, and serviceing. Don't know who's haveing problems but me personally have not had one ounce of problems. Very reliable motors. Mine is the 6000 hd surface drive. If you're not running a lot of muddy bottoms by the surface not te longtail.
If you wanna mod one, these guys have the most reliable component parts

Keep in mind you can get a Mud Buddy outdrive in 3 lengths ... 27in 32in and 40in... the longer they are the more you can dig deep to get up on plain and also ride the clean higher water in the back like a long tail so running skinny is better... but keep in mind the tiller torque is more when the outdrive is longer... I think the 40in outdrive is called the SETX model...

135 black max with a 5 blade will eat some rocks :co: :(
lol no chit, i thought you were gonna cry....and you should see my prop i TORE it up through the summer

ive takin my kicker boat up through category 2 rapids usin the kicker standin on the front..... rig up a kicker
good idea, but in this situation i think any kinda prop is gonna get ate up....BAD

it dont matter. its a kicker. not your main motor. name any kind of terrain, my kicker has been through it
out of the water, across a parking lot, over a sand peninsula to get to a landlocked oxbow? thats one badass kicker

I run rocks all the time with my duals and the motors will kick up over rocks and logs and i do not run a rock/sand guard go for a ride with a Gator-tail

I understand what your saying, but trust me ive been in a buddy of mines kicker rig and there is absolutly positivly no way you will get through this with out loosing the prop or lower unit on the kicker....this is a 100% proven fact:cool:

That's what the truck is for. I've yet to shoot a fish in a dry parking lot.
i did one time....but i was too drunk to even be crawling, and my buddy was MAD.....you would be suprised how hard it is to hit a fish in the bottom of a boat, moving, on the trailer going up a boat ramp!
