Well everyone keeps telling me how great the rage broadheads are and since I have been selling them and getting requests for more I figured what the heck maybe their is something to them. I have never been a fan of mechanical blades! I generally use Muzzy or Slick Tricks!
-First dear I used a rage on was a 1.5 year old doe and I must say The Rage made a massive hole and a heck of a blood trail! Shot was 33-34 yard away broad side double lung. She ran a 15 yard semi circle and fell over dead!
-Second deer with a rage was a 3.5-4.5 mature buck, shot was 16-18 yards, broad side, slight quartering away. The shot was text book perfect, sound of the crack, big mule kick, buck took off plowing threw the corn like a dozer! When I got down I was shocked to not see my arrow and only find sprits of blood high on the corn leaves. I backed out and went back to the far with my head hung low thinking I must have crewed something up!
Went back two hours latter, we had visible blood high on the right side of the corn (entry side) and was able to track with out to much trouble but it was not the massive paint spill I saw with the first deer! Deer went about 60-70 yards and plowed out. I walked over and looked at the entry it was huge but the exit was the size of my pinky!
After skinning the deer I found:
-the entry hole was only 2" threw the first layer of muscle, broadhead went in between two ribs, as it passed in between the ribs on of the blades snapped. making a hole into the chest cavity that my index finger barely fit in. It then passed threw both lungs and exited the left side leaving a hole the size of my pinky (size of the head without the blades open)
I am NOT Impressed, needless to say I WILL NOT be taking a chance on them again, and plan on sending my story and pictures onto rage to see what they have to say!
I admit the end result was successful, but not how I like to see it done!
