Lol buddy gas is the cheapest expense there is on an airboat I can promise you that. People have this idea that owning an airboat would be feasible if they had free gas, it's not the gas that eats your lunch. I wish gas was the only expense I had to worry about. But instead you have $4,000 props with 700$ blades that one swipe from a header bolt can destroy. You have 600$ worth of steer and throttle cables that are under constant pressure and weather. Oh and a $12,000 motor that runs 5,000 rpms everywhere it goes.

Yea 4$/gallon gas is pretty dang cheap compared to all that that's a ticking time bomb

not talking bout mine yeah i put a new one in it... made $20 bucks from a guy that said we couldnt do it in 3 hours 2 hour 45 min.

I think what alot of people are thinking is if "they do the work". Most of us that have been around are pretty handy like that, but once you start having the manufacturers do the work? The bill adds up damn fast!!
I I wanna know what builder(legit builder not someone building out of there pole barn under someone else's business license) is building and selling complete bowfishing airboat rigs for under 50 grand :cf:

The 18x8 diamondback with a 496, hps lights, ballast box and genny had a retail of 56,000. I believe RC's bare 18x8 American was 47,000 (or something like that) but that was no light or genny.

I love how people jump on people about what they are asking for on there own gear. Sure "you" could build it cheaper if you did all the work yourself or pay your buddy the back yard builder to build a little cheaper but I doubt you could get a legit company to build you one for less, then again what do I know :re:

LOL! Mike you didnt know you could get a ready to fish airboat with a new fuel injected 496, lights and all from a manufacturer for less than 50k? Its the NEW thing lmao

I know of a builder off the top of my head that will build me an airboat alot cheaper than 50k. And it will be what I want, I will get it in a timely manner, it will be professionally built, and I can personally call the guy any time or day and he'll talk to me. I'm not talking about a lil 16-18ft ride boat either..

X2 I know of more than one quality builder that will build them complete for considerably less. That's the main problem here is so many people have tunnel vision because there isn't any competition.
