Looks awesome man... glad it finally worked out for ya & I'm looking forward to using it at some point this year, say like 6/22... lol

I still liked my original suggestion of using an Atari Joystick & hooking the top button up to be an underwater Carp Commander Missile launcher for them Erie fatties lol

Two thumbs up for Trish not killing thru another build lol

Thanks yall for the props :)

Im still not sure what I wanna do with this as far as 'marketing' it. I think Ive got a lil over $1000 just in parts, not counting the jackplate, so I dunno if theres really even much projected profit after you figure in the fab/installation time. As you can imagine, there was a lot of 'tweaking' to get everything to work together. A lot of stock motor parts went out the window, and a lot of stuff had to be created from scratch. If I can get teamed up with a bigger company with quantity buying power, then maybe....but I dont see much use for this outside the bowfishing community. I just cant see myself retiring off this idea....lol.

Most likely Ill post a fully detailed tutorial on how I did mine in the near future. I sent this idea to another well known name/company a few months ago (twice) and got no response, only to hear that this same company is supposedly coming out with a similar project soon?? Not sure if its true or not, but if so Id rather spill the beans on how to 'do it yourself' then to see someone else profit off of MY idea. We'll see....

If nothing else, I just wanna be known as the ORIGINATOR of this system :)

Oh, and Derick, Im pulling some strings to try and make the stingray tourney! Id love nothng more than to chase down some rays with the kicker!

Cool setup. What happens if you accidentally shift it into reverse at full throttle while going forward?
Short answer-serious grindage of the gears!

To be honest, I dont see that happening unless you're intentionally trying to tear up your motor. You have to twist and HOLD the handle to get it to shift, and it takes a full 2 seconds to get from FWD to NEUTRAL, then another 1-2 seconds to get into REVERSE. I made sure the actuator I used wasnt super fast (or super strong) just for this purpose.

I was also worried about accidentally shifting while under load, but I think it would be very hard to do.

Makes sense. Shouldn't be a problem then.

Very nice Brent, can't wait to see it next weekend.
