...from what I seen happen to Jeffrm on here, who never made a penny trying to help folks out in the initial infancy of LED's,got azz raped by Customs and the IRS...
I've heard this several times and I've searched and can't find chit about it. Did it all go down with the old site? I don't think I was a member when this happened.

This is my invoice for aliexpress, I bought 8 50 watt led floods, 12 volt for $23 a piece. I can get this price all day long and I'd be happy to mark them up to $90 a light and sell them on here, but I don't have the time with 3 kids and working 12 hour third shift. Hope this answers your question SCOTTE17

I'm not trying to be pain, I just think the business guys around here are getting a little beat up worse than they deserve.

I agree 100% with you on that, I'm sure seelite and the other companies provide the best lights and service out there. I'm sure they are doing everything they can to make this sport better in everyway and have had plenty of nights where they just want to pull their hair out. And I'm sure they are not getting rich off these lights, if anything I'd say it's not worth the money to them, but for guys like me with a small budget for toys (I'm sure my wife would be rolling her eyes right now) we don't have the money to spend on led lights or don't feel like paying the extra amount for. I'm not saying paying the extra money isn't worth it because it sounds like seelite is a great place to do business with, and you usually get what you pay for, but hey I took a chance on the cheap lights and so far I got lucky.... Maybe one day when I retire or hit the lottery and am able to build the boat or board of my dreams I will support every sponsor on this sight, but until then I will have to stick to my budget...

Anyone mind posting up a invoice of lights that they paid less that $30 a light for 50w 12V. I've never seen them that low.

We're all at least part fishermen right? :)

Am I the only one seeing the irony here? Maybe we should change your name to Stickemdeep#2...

You may be the only one......but you're more than welcome to call me that if you'd like. I think that kid's alright. He's motivated by the sport and willing to get out there and compete against men twice his age and experience.

So what did your duty or taxes end up bring???? I googled several tariff calculators and on LED lighting varied from 3-6% on declared value of items coming into the country depending on country of origin and all had no VAT (value added tax) added it said

Very well might have been.....it was literally the infancy of LED use(funny that %90 of the folks on here was fervently against LED's)Customfitz took over from the same dealer(in China)He did about $4,000 worth a business....which likely threw red flags...oh,yea the source in China also offers a Guarantee.I am still using the original lights and have had zero issue

I bought the color changing 50 watt lights from Ali express. It was roughly 750 for 10 of them with free shipping. I was initially pleased when I took the first one out of the box. It worked perfectly as advertised. I then hooked all of them up on the boat and of the 10 lights only 2 worked correctly. The color changing aspect was the problem. The lights would not change to the correct colors on the remote. Some would change to red when the yellow buttons were pushed, others would change to blue or green but not the white or yellow at all.
I tried for several months to get them exchanged or replaced to no avail. Their customer service would rarely respond and when they did it was in broken English that you could not make sense of. After a while they quit communicating altogether. I then contacted my CC company and disputed the purchase and they looked at the emails I had exchanged and agreed that ali express was at fault. They refunded the money to my CC and I never heard another word from aliexpress. But, bottom line I still have 10 lights I cant use. 2 quit working altogether and the others wont change to a suitable color. I'd like to find someone to see if it is possible to disable the color changing setting and just dedicate them to all white just to make use of them.
Meanwhile I am going to probably buy seelight 80 watt lights. Pricey but it's not worth my time to deal with china customer service. You only get so much time on the water and I don't want to lose any of those precious days because my lights don't work right.

Not all LED are made in China, Owl Outdoors LED waves is made in USA with a high end LED chip made in Cali not a generic LED chip from China, much much bettr heat sinking, they go for 180 a piece so no where near 3x what seelite charges. Also comes with a 5 YEAR warranty:pop:
just sayin
