Ok i went out last night for a little fishing. We saw a giant common carp and I drew back and shot. I saw something fly off the retriever and then started reeling in and the line would go out the back not into the bottle... the trigger lever was not working like it should. It was acting as if a spring shot out because the trigger will not go forward when you let go. II also noticed a small crack near where the bottle screws in. This retriever is a month old it came on my Browning barracuda. Has anyone else had anything like this happen? Almost like the retriever just blew up!?!?!
Looks like ill be having to buy another one..

Don't know know exactly what to tell you, but marc is right. Retrievers are pretty easy to take apart and fix. I had to order parts for mine after it had an unfortunate run in with a drunk girl in the back seat of my truck. Fixed it for like $6, sure beat dropping $80 on a new one.

are you sure you're talking about your retriever here, or is the word "parts" an alternative word for viagra so you could get it workin??? :p

yeah ams should cover it you get ahold on them let them no the case and they should work out something with ya being that new.. i have broke a few parts on them like strippers are the main thing ... and retrievers are so simple to work on. as well as my spinners everything breaks its just how ya treat it or a defect

This question/problem was addressed a month ago, I think. Check below.

Your line is falling behind your trigger and when you shoot it pulls the trigger forward and crackes the stripper. That's why we put the trigger gaurds on now. If you shoot a higher poundage bow you will break more than that. Always use your line retainer so you do not have a loop of line hanging down when you shoot. Good luck.

Bahaha, kinda set myself up for that. If she woulda stomped on my junk as hard as she stomped on my retriever it'd take more than the blue diamond to fix it. :nk:

It looks like these guys took care of your parts. as for the reason it did this was that your line probably caught a part on the retriver. always use that little clip for the line where it comes out of the bottle and even then try to periodically check to make sure you dont have alot of slack.
.

is it just me or is the back mount plate the the screw that hold the trigger gets held on by look broke or just my crappy computer

definitly needs a stripper just as well buy 2 very comin if your rough on stuff
