at the very least i would check with your BMV to find out all the steps required to get legal. i was goin to go from scratch but it required more paper work. in Indiana to modifiy a hull it requires you take exsisting registration and a complete materials list along with all recipts to have a local sherrifs office do a vin check. then take all of that to the bmv and send to indy to quallify for a title that will now say "modified hull" or "Homemade". after that i will have to go to the bmv one more time to send off for a new registration and get new "IN #'s" it will take atleast a month to get all paperwork done.

Very nice work there man. Love all the straps being used to keep her straight. and tight. Would love to do that to my 1648. That will end up being an awsome rig for our neck of the woods.

Great work

Yeah my buddy works at a fabricating shop so he can get alum at cost so when he comes up with the first big sheet of it then i'll start doing some checking into it but for now i'm pretty skeptical on if it'll really come together or not...
I did contemplate taring the boat we have now apart but it really doesn't have that tall of sides on it so i'm thinking either buying a whole new one or building one from scratch... maybe..

not alot to post this week.

not a lot of progress this week. food plots ,then rain. notice in the 4th pic there is 1.5" of water in the bottom of the boat from the rain 2 days ago. must not be to many leaks on the bottom seams.;) finally got my 2" tap in the mail. that was 60bux i didnt plan on having to spend. other than than i got it onto my 20ft flatbed so i can start on the floor beams. its the only way to keep the bottom flat so it hopefully doesnt warp while attatching the beams. and so everybody knows how i roll. . . i finally got my 24" bfc's on my powerstroke!

just lookin to see how big the deck will actually be. . 84"long and 64" across the front and 84" across the rear. it will be 10" off the rail and 30" off the floor. hope one 15" step will work.

Wow! I thought I had every tap size I'd ever need...I sure don't have one that big! My biggest is probably an inch. So the bottom is still skip welded and holding water or did ya seam it up? I'm curious on your LED's too, they look different than the others I have seen on here.

chad: CUSTOMFITZ! PM him thru this site or make direct purchases thru customfitzled.webs.com and mention BFC! the ones i have on the little boat are 27's they will make the transfer when i get that far and hopfully chad will let me showcase his new secret 50's to my project 1st.

Awesome build . Me and my buddy "Bowfish Naked" Turned my 1648 into a 1660 also. Pretty scary when you start to make that first cut but its all worth it when you finally get on the water. The difference is amazing.I've had four on the front since the change and could easily shoot five. Keep the pics coming and hope you enjoy it.

as you can see its not all the way welded yet, but you get the idea. i will now go back with 1x1 cross ways across the top to reduce flex. cutting the ribs every 8" to create a bend worked very well. i will go back and weld the sides of each cut to make it strong again. a good tip for anybody wanting to bend square tube. alot of work but worth it in the end.;)
