BAA
1)Sponsored by the Wisconsin Bowfishing Association (WBA). The tournament will be hosted at Cabela’s in Prairie du Chien, WI
There are three boat ramps in town that can be used, with many others available since trailering is allowed. Weigh-in and fish count will take place at Cabela’s.
Shootable Waters shall be:
Mississippi River Pools 9,10 and 11
All waters in between the railroad tracks on the west and east sides of the river are legal. No known Red Zones exist at this time, but if they arise they will be presented immediately and well before the event.
The waters stretch for 96 miles and have tons of cuts and sloughs giving you hundreds and hundreds of miles of shootable water where 2 to 6 feet of visibility is common.
Wind is generally not a problem here as there are many places to shoot out of the wind and not a ton of big open water areas.
Hotels are within close proximity of the area. We are working with a few to try to arrange special pricing for the World Championship.
Species that may be shot. (Rough fish)
Rough fish include: dace, suckers, carp, goldfish, redhorse, freshwater drum, burbot, bowfin, gar, buffalo, gizzard shad, mooneye, and carpsuckers.
Fish disposal has been secured at no cost to the BAA or WBA.
The WBA will help secure prizes for the World Championship. Cabela’s will provide discounts at their store for all registered participants besides possible donations.

We feel that you will enjoy shooting this body of water. It has plenty of acreage and yet is wild land for no user conflicts, not to mention a lot of fish. Any questions can be directed toward Matt Harris (262) 370-7594 carpmjh@yahoo.com or Chris Cass (608) 774-7377 casser@charter.net
2) Lake Guntersville 2012 BAA World Championship Bid
Tournament to be held on Guntersville and Wheel lakes.
Shad will count for numbers
No Catfish
1 Grass Carp limit
Meet at Lurleen B Wallace pavilion and trailer from there.
Fish disposal will be provided.
Meet and greet at Backwater Outdoors in Gurley Friday afternoon.
Possibly a meal provided by City of Guntersville and maybe breakfast the following morning
3) Vicksburg, Mississippi
Hosted at Chotard Tavern and Resort
Trailering Allowed
Numbers & Big 20
14 hours (6 pm - 8am)
100 fish limit for silver carp in numbers 10 fish limit for big 20
no limit on shad.
Bowfisherman can expect to find numerous amounts of gar, bowfin, buffalo, common carp, and plenty of silver carp.
Our area will present a different kind of challenge for bowfisherman, such as navigating through tight timber and narrow canals of the Mississippi River oxbow lakes. Competitors in both divisions will have to work equally hard to come up with the winning fish.
I propose the date for July 21, but I am open to move the date if any of the more experienced guys have better suggestions.
Let me know if you need more info regarding this, or if I need to do something else to place a more official bid.
Thanks,
Bert Turcotte
