Justin and i are putting together a tournament series for next season its going to be all night shoots. We are open for any ideas so far we are planning on 7 tournaments starting at La Cyne in march then big hill , hillsdale, milford , melvern , perry then back to melvern for the final one theyre going to be on the second sat of each month. Were going to do a point series so at the end we can give away some new bows to the winning team if we get enough players were going to give new ospreys to the high point team. We dont have sponsorship enough to buy the bows out right so were going to have to charge so much to get in the point series 3 new bows is gonna run around 2200 . Justin can add to this on what he has figured for entry fees and such with 7 tournys what sponsors we have arent gonna be able to give stuff for every tourny so what we might do is at the final tourny give out what has been donated . Were talking like the milford shoot will be a Ks vs Ne border war shoot well try to come up with something for this one so ideas are welcome.

Hey Dubledrop, Can you make those charts for at least 20 teams and they would be perfect!! The chart for the Milford Border Wars Shoot might need to be 30 teams just in case. I have no idea how many Neb. teams are gonna show but i know we should have at least 12 to 15 Kansas teams there.

Going to through this idea out there just for publicity effects. Whoever wins the points at the end of the season be crowned with the title of State Champion. This may help draw a few more teams out of state or not. Some people are drawn to the fact of being involved in State Championships. "2013 Kansas Night Bowfishing Championship Series" . On another note how about we add a point just for attending the shoot. what would your thoughts be on bonus points for attending all 7 shoots ?

Sounds like a good deal to me that would be a cool title to win. I like the attendance points ive been thinking about that to i was thinking maybe 5 points per team for every tourny attended or maybe if they cant attend and pay entries for the tourny still get the 5 points with a paid entry .

If u only get your top 4 scores the 5 attendance.points most likely wont factor into who wins

Ok on another note would any of you guys be interested in some kind of T-Shirt designed just for the tournament series. I am currently looking for someone to make them as cheap as possible. I think Chard is mentally drawing up a design. It s all going to depend on how much they will cost. It would help in pricing if I knew how many shirts i needed. I have no need to end up making 50 if I only need 30. Major waste of money. If any of you guys no somebody that makes shirts let me know.

Red Water Junkies has a t-shirt contact. The more shirts ordered the cheaper the cost. It would be a silk screen shirt though and design would need to be limited to amount of colors.
Give us a quantity and design and we can get a quote.

Here is the shirt design. Its by no mean done or ready. Just a rough idea i drew up at work. Also imo putting in a paint order to Cerakote if anyone wants there bow done. Let me know so i can get the color you want ordered. MY PLATE IS NOW FULL!!! LOL!! Teally hopin to get some deer huntin in sometime this year. LOL!!

Heres the other one im messin with. They both need work and some kind of fish arrow put through them. What do you guys think? Is either one worth messin with? Was thinkin about gettin shirts made of the second one and putting all the team name on the back that are in the point series.

As far as the points system goes, I feel like we're starting to go too many directions with it. We should probly try to keep it as simple as we can. Also, I really dont like the idea that people can basically "buy" points by paying an entry fee and not participating. Plus, awarding extra points for attending all of the shoots seems like those that can attend all of them, will be catered to, while they will already be catered too by getting their top 4 of 7 finishes. I do however feel like if we are going to give points for attendance, i think they should be based on their finish. A team could have 1/2 a pound less than the 3rd place team and get no points, when they basically did equally as well, so the yshould get some "credit" for that.
So we would have points awarded for:
A. Place finished (for every spot finished)
B. Big fish
C. Special fish

I was just throwing that out there with paying the entry for the points im sure the winning teams wouldnt mind it at all lol. Were not trying to cater to any teams if we wanted to keep it really simple we could do 25 for first 15 for second 10 for third all 7 tournys count towards final score that would get rid of alot of paper work . Were almost to the point that there is no reason for people to attend all 7 tournys and that is what i was trying to get away from by doing the point series i wanted the point series to bring in more teams to every tourny with the end results being a very nice prize. If there is no benefit to attend all of them then some teams wont try to hard to make them . We dont have to do a point series maybe it wasnt a good idea we can just do regular tournys hit each lake once and the team with the most first place wins are the Ks bowfishing champs no prizes just a title . I dont do the tournys for the cash or prizes i do it because i want to see how we rate against other teams and i love competition it would be cheaper for me to buy my team ospreys and just go shoot fish every weekend than going to any tournys i sponsor my team and pay all expenses so no matter what we would happen to win i wouldnt come out ahead . I think its gonna be fun no matter what.

I know you were just throwin it out there, i just stated my opinion. Hell, with so many ideas being tossed around, most are bound to be shot down. I think the whole thing is a great idea, and its gonna be a lot of fun. I think by taking the top 4 of 7 scores, there is still motive for teams to make as many as they can. Like you, I'm there mostly for fun, dont get me wrong the prizes are nice too, but I honestly dont think we will win, but that challenge makes all that better for me. But if by some crazy chance we did win, yall better be ready for some serious trash talkin...Hehehe
