A 22lr rifle is always a 22lr
magwells are diffrent
Take down pins are diffrent
Alot of small things are diffrent on the lowers and the uppers
If you want an ar to shoot 223/556 get one And shoot 22lr throw a 22bolt in her and go to town

You can change the uper but it's cheaper to just buy a .223/5.56

I have the cmmg 22lr conversion bolt for my stag model 1. All you have to do it swap out the bolt carrier group when you want to shoot .223 or .22lr. Palmetto State Armory has them and three blackdog mags for $199 the last time I checked.

i had a cmmg conversion, but went ahead and bought a tactical solutions upper and its way more accurate with the correct twist rate. also all aluminum and threaded for my can!!
