If you have a 7'' travel cable, there is no way you will need a bell crank/ multiplier setup. You just don't have your cable hooked up in the right spot on the motor.

Where about should it be? we palayed around with it and never could get it to travel both left and right all the way. we have it almost dead center of the motor hooked with a bracket that comes out about 4". It likes about an inch both ways from getting complete turns from the motor.

The 4'' bracket is your problem....... You need that end of the cable attached closer toward the center of the motor. (further under the engine cowling). The further under the cowling the cable connects, the less travel you will need.
