I got my new 68" troller shaft from Bowfishing Extreme, they sent the instructions how to. Thanks Y'all. I cut the shaft to 60" it was hard at all. I numbered the leads in with the triller contoller. Yes I did use lock tiite & marine grade caulking around the motor & shaft.

Thanks OBG! Great write up! There is misleading info all over the net about how the shaft just comes right out, it ain't so.
If the shaft just comes right out the motor probably has water in it.lol

Mine came out fairly easy, I used a 12ga. chamber brush to clean the threads, compressed air & acrylic cleaner on the threads to the motor & the new shaft. I applied a fair amount of thread lockon, I threaded until I couldnt hand tighten anymore then with a strap wrench, 2 good hard tugs, I cleaned the area between the motor & the shaft with acrylic cleaner then a bead of marine grade sealent around the shaft & the motor.
