I have a 24 foot pontoon with 2 extra 16 foot pontoon logs under it. I am looking for more power so I can run the motor under less power and get a little longer battery life. Pretty easy conversion from 80 to 101. I had to replace the bullet and the armature. which I unsuccessfully unscrewed the original from the shaft, so I had to buy a new shaft. also i needed to update the battery meter to 36V. if that is all i have to do to convert to a 112 is replace the bullet and armature i would like to upgrade. my armature is getting a little tired anyway.

so it looks like converting my troller which was an 80lb now a 101lb to 112lb will only cost $300. that is the cost of the new trolling motor bullet and it's guts. I will let everyone know how it goes.

I have yet to order the parts for this conversion yet. But as far as converting 101 to an 80 it is possible. you just need to but the lower head unit for an 80 motor. That in tales the armature, armature housing, and shorter bolts for the housing along with the 24v battery switch if you want to see your voltage left on the motor. pretty easy to do, only challenging part is taking the old head off the composite shaft. I ordered a new shaft after I messed up the threads on my original. go to minn kota and compare the parts list from a 101 to the 80 and the parts that are different are the ones you need to get.
