Ok now my curiosity is going. So I'm gonna have to do some experimenting with different poundages and arrows and depths. I'm not saying that anyone is not telling the truth but holy cow 15' is really deep to actually be penetrating a fish. Do any of you have any videos of this?

No I don't have any videos but I did have some pics of the area I'm talking about. Can't prove how deep it is by the pics, but at least you'll get an idea of what I'm talking about.

The rig I use- A Mathews SQ2 set at 72#, a Sully's Solid Stainless Steel Arrow, 3 barb Grappler

The area in question- Lake Michigan behind the Stateline Power Plant Water depth runs from 12-15 FOW most places, some deeper. Pier extends out into the lake and the section closest to the plant is the warm water discharge area.

Water clarity is not a problem with good polarized glasses. Wish I had a polarized lens for the camera.

Penetration was not an issue either

Mostly small fish though... (sorry, hard to hold fish and take pic of scale)

Like I said, the pics don't prove how deep it is, but it is what it is. I took me several attempts in changing equipment before I could actually shoot fish there. Of course, even though the bow will stick them, I still had to hit them.. Trust me, there was a LOT of misses!

This is all ive got for footage, Black Eagle set at 30lbs with a plain white arrow, long barb tip tied TTB with RPM Redline. Pool noodle sat at about 9ft depth. The arrows were still hitting pretty hard at that depth. I have no doubt that if i cranked it up to 45lbs it would stick fish like that no problem

The ironic thing is that where we do most of our bowfishing, the clarity is typcially no more than a foot or two max! Many nights we fish you literally can't see the whole trolling motor! There are some lakes about an hour north that have decent clarity, but nothing like the big lake!

11 feet shooting 65 lbs on a BE. The arrow didn't pass thru I barely got the fish in. My Osprey is set at 55 never moves from there and I pin fish to the river bottom at 6feet or less

11 feet was an aluminum arrow btw
