Just one of those curiousity questions- what draw weight do you guys shoot at?

As of now i have some 35ish lb bands in my slingbow they seem to shoot arrows pretty good. Dont know if its neccessary to upgrade to some 50lb bands or if the 35lbers would be suitable for shooting average size fish

I dont think you guys are getting how deep these particular fish we are talking about are?Maybe the fish in Dorn were deeper?I dont know? All I know is even at 70lbs we couldnt get arrows to stay in them.I am just using that instance as an example because it still haunts me to this day.I still wish some of you Eastern guys would come out and give it a go with your "bows".You pick the water

You guys can call BS all you want. You talk to any of the guys that shot there. Kuger knows. All you guys can come over here with you little kids bows and see how well you do. You wont even get the arrows to the fish except maybe when its free falling. Even the fish closer to the surface are tough. If it was an all out spawn, then your kiddy bows might work. Then what makes it even tougher is the fish are spooky as hell so what is up to the top is long shots. Your kids bows have a place. Just not over here. You can try if you want, but will soon be shooting a mans size bow. LOL
There you go OBG Have fun with that one. LOL STIR STIR STIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When we shot the Tri City shoot with you guys last year. We went to the Mouth of the Yakima and the fish were on the edge of the drop off into the Columbia. They were all deep cruisers. We had a heck of a time keeping fish on there also. Also the Columbia river fish up there seam to be tougher skinned. They got a little softer towards the end of the summer though. It was sure a nice change shooting the shallow water fish at Boardman. Until the second day. We got into a spot on the south edge that the fish were using as a highway. We just sat ther and all the fish were schooling in 20-30 fish per school at about 4-8 feet down. Non stop shooting and tons of missing, but was fun as hell.

My partner shoots a Black Widow Recurve at 50# @ 28" with about a 29" draw. His arrows will not even come close to getting the penetration as my Pse did. I shot an Oneida last year at 42# and could stick fish deeper and further from the boat then he could even think of sticking. I seen him bounce an arrow off a fishes head with out the barbs going in with a 3 prong grapple. It killed the fish and it sank and I shot it off the bottom. I had no faith in a recurve after that.
