It's a long distance intense wide beam laser that illuminates targets up to 500 yds. If it were infrared it would not be visible to the human eye.

Its like a green lazer spotlight that will shine 150 yrds. An the bigger 1s even farther, animals arnt suppost to be able to "see" the light when u cut it on... I've looked at buyn 1 for a while at a local gun store..

I heard though that after about 3 to 5 seconds of it being shined on a deer that the deep will spoke. So the moral of the story is shoot quick lol

put a hand warmer on your nd-3 when it gets around freezing and that will help a lot
