I'm making a light rail out of 3/4 EMT conduit, have it all figured out connection wise and everything but having a problem with figuring out a way to attach it to my deck. I've tried plumbing floor flange in 3/4 and it will only take 1-2 threads then it cross threads. Im at a loss, anyone do a set up this way? Will appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

i used the conduit couplings and bored them out a little so that the conduit would slide into it. then i welded the coupling(cut down to 2") to the edge of boat so that rail just sat down into it and pins in. works good so far and is sturdy but still easily removed for daytime fishing.

ha sorry didnt read the part about not wanting to weld. just thread some holes in your deck. the rivet nut inserts work ok but will eventually slip. i just went through a rail build and this was my biggest dilemma as well
If the nut insert slips just put the tool back on and give it another squeeze
I have these all around my boat all my lights are held with these
