i just looked in the regs book i have, it didnt say much about wild hogs.

no closed season but will be treated as a game animal when hunted.

didnt even see anything about legal firearm sizes...

If it is a 300 lbs plus hog..I highly recommend shooting behind the ear...I have seen slugs broadheads and bullets in their thick shield they develop as the get huge...anything smaller a good vital shot will work.

I prefer low and in the back of the front leg when the hog steps forward, this will take out lungs and heart. Shooting them in the head right behind the ear is a great spot but if you haven't shot them before I would recommend sticking with the vitals as you see above. Like all animals a quartering away shot never hurts and is one of the best shots you can take for success.

There are very few rules about em. Pretty much you can shoot em with whatever you got. On public land you can only shoot them with whatever is legal during the current season that is open. Currently that would be shotgun or a bow since turkey season is open and just on lands that have a turkey season of course. I dont know for sure but I don't think that rule applies on private land but I wouldnt be caught out pig hunting with a rifle and a turkey call on you. In fact I would ask someone for sure about private land rules and let me know if you find out for sure.

I've heard an Alabama game warden say if you see em shoot em till they are all dead or gone. They want them gone.
