i throw them in the truck if they are over 15 pounds when i get them its a 300yd walk to the truck but makes it easier and gives time for them carp to come back to where i was shooting at in the side pools... i should get a stringer for the smaller ones be a lot faster to clean up what i shot when i was done lol

Most state laws state that leaving the fish on the bank is xonsodered the same as littering, also its a good quick way to get some places to shut you down for buisness. Alot of people here don't like to eat the fish they shoot, I have found getting past the slime while filleting is hard but the meat is damn good so I take a long stringer with me. If you really don't prefer this tactic then sloce the swim bladder and let them sink. Crayfish, turtles, and other fish will eat on them. If you are in a heavy secluded place and decide to leave them on the bank then I am sure coyote and ***** eat them but I don't take the chance for where I fish to just leave them.

Can't believe how many guys said leave them on the bank. Come on guys that looks horrible for the sport plist i dpnt know a single state where its legal. Jet sleds work great. At very least if you live in a state that sinking them is legal at very least slice them open and let them go while they are alive so they swim away from the shore and sink.

If put them on stringer with you, big female carp or gar will actually attract more fish to you with the "fish in heat" pheromone in the water

Come guys throwing them on the bank? I "outgrew" my last dumping spot since it was starting to be more than just a few so now I'm paying a guy to dump fish on his property so my fish are properly disposed of

I can't believe how many of you guys are saying just leave them, especially the ones that have been on the site or involved in the sport for awhile. It's called wanton waste of game, it's illegal in several states. Some states even include slicing the air bladder and sinking them under this statute.

We do a decent amount of bank shooting/wading during the carp spawn when the fish are super shallow. We will shoot our fish and pile them up on the bank, usually in several piles. Then when we're finished we'll get the boat as close as possible and fill up the tub.

If you can't take the time, or don't care enough about the sport, to simply dispose of your fish properly then maybe you should consider getting a new hobby. :rage:
