Your math is fine, Popcorn. In reality, there would more likely be 100-120 boats entered. The difference here would primarily be in the guaranteed payout of 20K...that's what would drive the machine, but there are other driving forces. The difference (if any) in funds for the pay out along with the operating expenses will be provided by some heavy hitting sponsors. There will be three tv crews filming the event which will be a huge attraction for sponsorship. Aside from that, the reservoir has a lot to offer. Strike has proven that guys will travel just to shoot big fish. Tie that in w/ a shot at $5,000 for first place, and it seems (From previous posts) that the rest will take care of itself. As you know, the tournament has been in place for a couple of years now, there will simply be a changing of the guard so to speak...you won't want to miss it, so get ol' Capone fired up and leave a weekend early in May free in your schedule. Something BIG is brewing for American Falls!
Well, years ago I fished bass tournaments and I stopped because it became more about the money and prestige than about having fun with a great group of guys....so im not too interested in being involved in a big production...just not my gig. However i know there are lots of competitive minded guys out there that like that atmosphere, so in that regard I think you have something to go on and I hope it works out.

So....the average boat would shoot 50 fish in 12 hours?
From what i saw and have heard, The tourney would probly have 8 hrs one day and 6 hrs the next....that being said, If the weather cooperates look for big weights to come in....LOTS of fish full of eggs and spawning right around that time of year. 50 fish per day average....i would say so!

To solve the day and night issue why not open up 8 or ten hrs during the night that way the option is there for shooters wanting to try it. Then its their option whether to shoot the night and take a chance on not having the energy for a full daytime shoot. Just have a weigh in crew not affiliated with any team that can be there for designated weigh in times. Just my .02. I have shot small local archery club shoots that were from noon friday til noon sunday and you could shoot anytime you wanted but they had several designated weigh in times throughout the weekend so you didnt have to keep dragging fish around. It gave you the chance to empty your boat before they turned into fish jerky. Just figured I would throw the idea out there

You are OLD so I will go easy on ya,READ!!!!......................

.....................You seem to contradict yourself? You claimed it cost too much to play,or come out here yet you say you would go where ever it is?
"Since you seem to be beeching about the locations of the BAA worlds, are you going to step up to the plate and put in a bid to host one? We go through this every year, and the World Champions (I myself am not one nor do I care to ever be one because it cost to be one) seem to show up regardless of where its held, so quit talking about it and be about it."

See above underlined statement taken from my previous post. I guess you would actually have to READ it to understand it, but there it is plain and simple. This is going nowhere between you and I, so Im just going to have to agree to disagree and move on.

Good job at editing my post!!!Not sure what you are disagreeing on,but now I am flattered you picked me out of the crowd!!

My pick-up isn't near as nice as most so how about a revised question? How many hours would you be willing to drive for the original stated tournament? I've done 14-16 hrs and just got to see some friends that did 18.

Are you gay? Just wondering because that sounds just like something a gay guy would say.

More than $5000 for 1st and $500 per day for big fish? Just curious. Trying to figure out what would really be the deciding factor for a yes!! What would be the ultimate motivator?
The ulimate motivator.....I would think $20K in "added" money from major sponsors would do it for most guys!

Casey... I assure you that Popcorn is not gay... and I get what he is saying... all he is saying for him shooting tournaments is about hanging out with good friends and shooting some fish with a chance of winning money... For him a huge contest is not so important...

the chit talk and assorted craaap that go along with anything big-money-fishing/bowfishing-comps has already started ... and not to mention the cheating that will undoubtedly follow. dunno gents, its a 80/20 split on not going to be a part of this one...

level the playing field (hp/$$ wise) and tell me its a big five and you'll bend my ear a bit more.
