How far would you drive to shoot an early May (two day) total weight tournament guaranteed to pay out $20,000 to the top 20 (two-man) teams on a reservoir known for big (40# plus) common carp. For the sake of conversation, let's say the pay out started at 5K for 1st and worked down...figure on an additional $500 bonus each day for the Big-Fish winners.

If you ain't first you're last. That's what a competition is. If you ain't laying your entry money on copeting for 1'st then you're wasted space and need not apply.

all the more reason for a different format!I been shooting overall weight shoots for 22 years,its getting kind of old really?Lets shake it up!My measly bass boat cant handle the weights I am capable of killin no how!!! LOL!!Out my azz....that one was!!!

first off: Sheriff, my opologies if i was outa line with the tennis player...
fellahs, BIG nasty numbers are great and wondeful and impressive all but less fish (big five) fundamentally MAKES a team hunt more. besides, Im tired of the dang blisters on my fingers! lol
those of you that have shot against/with us know we can hang with yall when we can track down the numbers. whittle this down to a weight w/lower numbers and make it really interesting! Those that have comp bass fished can relate when i say this. (ie: upping the "will it go"/length on a water not known for bigger bass to see who can find the fatties). im not saying we wont come and watch the show, but why the heck compete in a big weight deal when we know we cant pack it safely in the first place? i would wager ... you get MORE entrys with this format.
we'd be at CJ this year if it were this format...

Honestly I would love big twenty but I don't think it would be fair for out of staters or people that have never been too this water. If you catch my drift
it's big water and someone isn't going to learn what they need to know in a few days for a big twenty. But like I said I'm game
