I know this is probably going to be hard to explain, but I thought I seen someone advertising they made a 'air injected" hull. Not a tunnel hull, but a hull where there are holes, vents whatever you want to call them, that puts air under the hull to loosen it up in the water. I did this when we were racin' personal watercraft, I plumbed, vented exhaust to the outlets on the bottom of the hulls. Kawasaki copied it a couple of years later on some of their production skis. Worked really well, I don't have my notes anymore since the house burnt in 03'...but I wanna' say we were picking up about 2-3 mph. Not a huge increase, but we're talking about a lot smaller wetted surface then a bowfishin' boat.

i'm not calling anyone a liar or anything but "some" (not all) of the numbers seem inflated. i got a 2072 alumacraft with a 2005 90hp 2 stroke merc. And it dont matter if its just me or 3 other people it runs 32 tops all day long never more. Maybe its just operator error and one day i will set my jackplate just right and gain 7 mph :)

Before you consider someone a liar or think they may be stretching the truth, keep in mind there are 100's of different ways to setup a boat. Just because one guys boat will flat out smoke another guys boat with the same exact size boat and motor, doesn't mean anyone is "stretching" the truth. Simple things like fuel location and quantity, battery quantity, deck material and size, tunnel or no tunnel, pods or no pods, generator size, light type and weight, generator size, hull design and thickness, how the inside is finnished with skins or no skins, the actual rake of the boat, square chine or round chine ect, ect, ect. The list goes on. Just sayin it aint right to doubt a mans posted speeds untill you know the specs of the boat. GPS don't lie. I can back up my numbers. :D

JP you are 100% correct. My boat is NOT built for speed. I have a 357 pound four stroke 70, 150 pound genny with no gas, Battery, gas etc. Plus my boat is a true flat bottom nicked to heck.

I didnt start this thread for a pi$$ing match guys. I really started this thread for an idea of what your boats speed is and to try and keep some topics on BOWFISHING. At one time BFC was a bowfishing site.

travis ur speed seems reasonable to me, i was just referring to some other ones. On the old bfc there was a thread like this and some people were claiming 40mph from 2072's with 90hp setups, and i always thought maybe it was my trim position but after two yrs thats still the best i can muster out of her lol
i understand exactly what your saying. all boats are just differnet. personally if your boat gets up quickly out of the hole, i wouldnt be all that concerned with the top end. it does seem to me that you might be able to get more out if your set up but who knows without seeing it and being in it. then again you may have everything perfect and it just aint gonna fly.

did not mean to step on any toes, i take back my previous statement. All i can do is vouche for my boat. 2005 mod v alumacraft boat 36' sides, 2005 90hp merc. 2 stroke with hydrofoil and hydraulic jackplate. 10 gal. plastic fuel tank in back next to deep cycle starting battery. 2 trolliing batteries under center console running to a 70lb (need bigger!!) minn-kota. Halogen light setup with 5000w troybilt in the back. No kicker rigged up yet and deck is in progress. And the day i got it no lights, generator or troller on it i got 32, after putting on lights and throwing genny in and 3 buddies with prob 100lbs of beer and ice haha!!! still 32

very true i have a 1852 southfork with a 115 johnson and all i could get last year was 40 with 3 guys and gear. on gps

and once again did not mean to offend just curious if i was doing something wrong, but thru trial and error and changing props thats the best i can do. And like u said travis i seldom shoot fish goin that fast lol. I never even really run my boat wide open anyways

16ft vhaul w/ 90hp Merc. Varies pretty widely depending on conditions. Averages 36 can get up to 42 if water conditions are good, in a little chop with three guys and all gear drops to about 32.

1652 Lowe with 2000 Johnson 50hp and a 17 pitch prop. 33mph flat out loaded or empty.Thats with a jack plate and float pods. There are times i wish it was faster but when i watch all my buddies filling there boats up all the time i just sit back and laugh.

in my old 1542 flatbottom i could run like 33-35 with a 40 yamaha tiller handlle no trim. overloaded haha
just the boat and motor and me and gas i could get like 42 with the good prop. motor had a lil work done to it :D

18x8 airboat with 509 53 on gps

My boat is a 10x69 with a 175ss Merk and flow masters and hydro surf jet pusher vamp dogs, with hyper sided hang gliders...It will run 107 without wind and 12 with wind..

1756 G3 60HP Yamaha two stroke. 33mph gps. Usually around 30 is the average speed. That's fast enough for me.
I forgot to mention I have float pods. I also want to say that my boat gets really good fuel mileage. I can go from hwy 21 to the loc n dam when the river is up and flowing and then back about on less than than a 12 gal tank of gas with fuel to spare.
