Ok... So i finally started drink'n the koolaid.. And went over to a buddies house to shoot through a chronograph.. Well I have my osprey which is fairly new considering it's in swamp assassin.. And marked 35-55 pounds and a short.. So we put it on the scale and maxed out it's only at 45 pounds!! What the F**k?? The whole reason I bought this thing was for more penetration.. The fastest it ever shot was 125fps but averaged between 115-120 fairly consistently.. What kind of bullchit is this?? You buy a bow and it's 10 pounds less than it reads on the sticker when maxed out!! That's not cool.. Am I missing something here?? And speed wise it's about the same as the mission craze or menace.. Where's this hard hitting power everybody talks about?? Speed is speed and I don't care if it's a skippy bow.. If it shoots the same speed as an oneida then you're goin to get the same penetration!! For $500 plus dollars why is this son of a ***** not shooting 55 pounds?? I do have some 50-70 pound power limbs.. Is it safe to put these on a cast riser osprey and shoot 60#'s?? Is this the only way I'm going to get the performance I'm looking for?? Sure it's smooth and looks cool but who cares if it won't perform!!!

Now.. Photobucket isn't processing the pics.. They keep saying failed!! What am I looking for? They look right!

Just an FYI, we didn't sell the bow but you do realize the limbs are now 30/50 or close. The decals still read 35/55 but they only come 30/50 now. It is not uncommon to have a variance in limb weight and scales for that mater. I have seen as low as 46 and as high as 53 come in, also 1 more thought, did you adjust the weight? They do not come maxed out from the factory!!! Hope that helps!

Careful Hoopty, I still shoot my 35/55's at 52#'s. Clear water makes you do crazy things!!!!!!

Then it should say that on the sticker!!! And yes this ***** it maxed!! I also used two different scales just to make sure!!

Im not bashing Oneida but they do need to come up with a better way of advertising their weight range, it seems everyone gets different answers according to what day of the week it is as to what their bows are built at. Lots of confusion here and it hasnt been addresed at all...

So I've got 4 sets of 12,18,15 mods with g, no letter,e.. In the bag... Is this right??

I agree!! I at least feel better laughing at these silly bastards!! And it looks like I may have too if they don't get their chit together with some specs!!

I would miss a TON of shooting if I didn't!! Maybe we're just loud! Lol

You want a f**k'n cookie?? Lol.. As I've said before.. If it won't shoot 55#'s then it doesn't need to be marked and sold as a 55# bow!! I can kill a deer with a .22 also, but I don't hunt with one!! I PREFER more #'s and here's the thing.. I shot it through a chronograph at 45#'s with 80% let off and averaged 115fps with a variance of arrows and tip combos!! 115fps is medie-oker at best for a bow that is at the top end of the bowfishing bow price range and is supposedly the chit.. Now it doesn't even perform within the parameters Oneida says it will do!! I like the bow but I don't give a chit if it's an Oneida or not.. It's crazy smooth and it's cool looking but come on.. The supposed best of the best should be doing better than this!!

Funny guy!! Lol.. Get your azz to compiling a bowfishing IBO standard!!

#104 ·
Well let's be honest here.. I dont really expect to get a lot of help when I post stuff!! I really have no idea why?? Lol..

#110 ·
I shoot higher poundage so i like let off!!

#122 ·
It's all about arrow speed--it takes a higher peak weight to make a high let-off bow shoot a fishing arrow as fast as a lower poundage no let-off bow. It's a no brainer.
I really hadn't thought about that until tonight.. Makes sense though... Any idea how much difference in speed it will make set at 45#'s changing from 80% to 60% let off??

TTG can answer that better than me but I don't think 80>60 is gonna help you very much.

AND 6... THEY BY GOD SHOULDN'T MARK THEM 55# BOWS IF THEY WON'T DO IT!! That's the point here.. It doesn't matter if anyone thinks that's overkill or not!! It doesn't matter if you can kill with less.. I can to.. But I want my other 10 pounds I expected and paid for!!! The point is.. It is not putting out.. I posted on here just to make sure it wasn't something stupid I was doing.. But NO! I don't care if the koolaid just got pissed in!!!

If your that upset about it, sell it to me because it sounds like it ought to go down to around 25#s which is what I shoot.....THEN u can call Oneida, ***** em out, and get u a 30-50# bow....maybe even labeled right haha
