bwahahaha. im glad i stumbled upon this thread. a year or so ago when everybody was jumping on the led bandwagon, so many people on here made them sound like they were the best thing since sliced bread. the few folks that knew better were sitting back giggling watching all these poor "latest and greatest gurus" spend their money on souped up flashlights......

like "someone" said when the leds started taking off. "if you want to try them just wait a few months, when all these folks realize how much leds suck you will be able to pick up a set for cheap from all these folks stripping them off their boats and going back to hps." haha:laugh:

So pretty much what your saying is anyone that runs leds is a{ poor latest and greatest guru } = [good chance i was shooting fish before you were born so i wouldnt be the latest or the greatest but i might be a guru lol ] and from your statements i gather that no led boat should ever be able to shoot more fish than a boat with hps because leds are just souped up flashlights .Plus the fact that you see 70% more fish with hps lights than with leds so hps lights must be magical the way it sounds !!!!!!....... Why do people get so wound up about what lights other people use i dont understand it conditions and likes vary from person to person just because i like leds and you like hps doesnt make you an idiot in my book heck id even go fishin with ya with them dang ole yella hps lights just to see em in action lol.

The eBay led lights aren't gonna be half as bright as seelite leds unless u upgrade the chips and drivers

X2 Bid on a 100W LED on EBay & won at about $70. My experiment was to put it on the front corner to "beeef up" the spread. It may have been 1/2 as bright as my SeeLite 50s. It's in my garage somewhere?? Not worth plugging up

I don't care what lights you run as long as they work for you. LEDs aren't ideal in every situation. Neither are hps. I was referring to all the bandwagon jumpers that bought LEDs when they first became popular just because someone on the internet said they were the best

I run seven 150w HPS, my partner runs 8, I can't see led's being better. I want to fish over an LED setup to see what all the fuss is about. We have a lot of clear water here, only time it's murky is on a windy day. The HPS seem to work well in both conditions.

I feel like it's been pretty well documented that they will never compare, atleast with what's currently availible.

leds have the same lumen to watt ratio as hps. That being said if you compare 50watts of led vs. 150watts of hps the led will be 1/3 as bright. I am staying with my hps. Plus if you run on 12 or 24 volts your amp draw on your batteries is huge. Deep cycle batteries were not make for high loads they were made for light loads for an extended period of time

x2 At the BPS open last year we could see carp laying on the bottom and the best we could do was bump them with an arrow once in awhile we might bring up a scale . My last setup was 24 225 ultra halos and i can tell you for certain my leds are way better than the halos were they put alot more light in the water and i can see fish alot better with leds .

My gosh! U were runnin 24 halos? How big was ur genny?

^^^ I was running 2 4000 watt champions and it made them scream. It looked like the sun was coming up but it didnt really light up the water like you would think it should .

I had 400 hps on the last rig,I ran a honda 3000 eu love them. Got 2 1000 hps 8 250 hps for this last rig I built but they are still in the Basement,and I am running 12 50 led & 2 30 led on my new rig for 1 year now.A have never had the thought of putting them on and no there not for sale. I have had over 30 different guy shoot over the led that shot over hps and have no problems seeing fish to shoot.But the bottle is better than the spinner no the Recurve is better than the Compound, no Air boat better than trollor, no kicker beat them all. no it the days of our lives no it as the world truns.
NO it taste great I dont give a $hit about less filling I know it taste great. and on and on.
