if dont have em on at the same time it would be cool to see a once over with just leds then over same spot with hps or others to see what u can see and cant see....but will prob have to rely more on the persons sight since the cameras dont show the bottom as well

Im guessin that the led's will light up the water just fine, and the hps' will light up half the world, and folks will say that the hps' put out 'more' light....but do you really need to put out THAT much light to get the job done??? Yeah it is one thing to see what the fish are doin 40 yrds out but i personally think that 20 yrds out is good enough jmo....esp when that opinion is soo quiet with/out a genny...lol...just sayin again.

I'm as anxious to see the results myself. We run 10 150watt HPS. I like being able to see out far enough to get the drop on fish before they realize were there. The more folks we have shooting the lake, the quicker the fish respond to being in the lights. They are gettting more skidish as the year winds on.. early on we could slip right up on them.. Here latley they waste no time heading for cover and deep water. So the sooner we see them the better chance we have of putting them in the boat!
If the LEDs are on par with the HPS then I would def. make the switch..

im saying deep down in the water tho how good. Mostly where i shoot u got a foot or two with the hps. So it would have to be a pace with low visability. I would love to have a few extra batteries and no genny. But that would also mean to shoot day and night i would need like 6-10 or more batteries to make it the entire time. With my 24v troller we make it 4-8 hrs w/o a converter depending on speeds used and wind

what does ur water look like? is it muddy? i really want to see these on muddy water and if they do good enough i will switch for sure
Good old Kansas mud pits. Lots of farm ground washed into the rivers & lakes & the wind churning it up. Usually have around 12"-24" of clarity with some good times of 36" but that is not that often.

Enough of this guessing about this or that here is the truth. If you are a tournament fisherman Led's are not the way to go. Ok you are prob saying what does this guy know. Well here is what I know. If you have an airboat noise is no concern and having led's are no advantage. If you have a fan well once again noise is no concern so why run led's. And last but certainly not least if you are running a troller to be effective you must run iota's or powermaxe's so therefor you must have a genny to run these. Well to me to be competitive in tournament's it's just no benefiet to me to have led's.

Trust me I have thought this thru and thru I wanted them as much as anyone. This is just my 2 cent's..

Thanks Josh

That may be true....out East, but as of right now we dont have night tournies out here, but when we do,noise issues will be just that...issues.Also,we have day tournies, and all use trollers,I have never seen a single boat running converters(I do now)so because you just run a troller doesnt mean you arent a tourney shooter

I kind of misled in my post. I am a troller myself and I am a tourney shooter. To be most effective in tournaments you need to have plenty of power wether it be a troller airboat or fan boat and in order to have enough power to run 12 hours or even 8 at full power on the troller you must have either a ton of fresh batteries or converters to keep you charged therfore you have a genny.

If you was just a pleasure shooter than fished at night with a troller that didn't stay out all night or didn't care if you lost power the longer you fished then I guess led's would be a good choice. Like I said I studied and studied on how this would benefit me and cannot come up with a just reason to get these light's.

I agree, lots of juice is a good thing. As said, noise can be a problem on many lakes here,so I guess it comes down to different places different needs. We will see.I hope the LEDs are what we are hoping.I am fixin to find out!!LOL!

I went out this weekend and had great water clarity and got atleat 5 feet of visability the my LED's No problem.
Lol...like I said earlier-all of these people out there with LED's, and yet no video?
Quit being a punk and get some, so i can see if they are gonna work or not lol!!

Man your boat would look slick with them. Like 14 of them.
I want it BRIGHT! I was thinking more like 20! I like the profile of the 'bars' though-like more of a rectangle. Just not sure how those cast light since everyone has the square design. But even so, those square ones seem plenty bright for where I mainly fish.

Still a lot of time until next season...we'll see what else hits the market.

You're the rich one! You get em...lol.

I'll be sporting em next year for sure
Whoa there, you must be confusing me with my wife, she has the money, not me,lol!! And that video looks very tempting! I think 20 would be a bit much though, I am thinking 12-14 would do just fine??
