I am finding that the LED flood lights that we use to fish provide nowhere near enough light throw to actually navigate with the big motor at night.

OK, so if we disregard the fact that the coast guard thinks that somehow we have night vision and should be driving around the lake in the dark... what has everyone found to work best for headlights. I have read over Jeff's Budget HID thread, and am considering that. on the last boat I had a set of standard KC halogens and wasn't impressed. I love the ruggedness and lifetime of LEDS, but dont wanna buy something that wont give me enough light to actually run on. Bada$$ sealed HID offroad lights are out of the budget.

what about the standard "Spot" 27W leds? the square Customfitz style?

Anyone tried the Knockoff "Dually" style LEDs?

what about the cheaper LED Bars?

The GO Lights work great and are remote controlled for viewing straight and side to side as you run and turn on off easy

Im in the same boat Rory. I bought those cheap driving light housings and thre in a pair of cheap HIDs from EBay. GARBAGE!

I want to buy a pair of the HIDs I have in my truck and put them in some KC Daylighter housings or HELLA housings. But they were $120.

How about some offroad flood lights like kc lights?
Tried KCs on the last boat, granted I didn't get to use them a whole lot, but I wasn't impressed to say the least, I remember them being great on the truck but they didn't seem to have nearly enough light to drive a boat with. I think we naturally look to the distance driving a boat.
