No the rope is a barb cover for the tip. the head dont come off like a flying gaff

i used crook neck hoe and cut blade off welded 3/8 spring steel tine to crook and sharpened it then fastened it better to the handle than it came from factory

I got the smaller one. I think 2 foot? Works great but if you get one, before you do anything pull the foam cap on the end off, slap some super glue on it and put it back on. We almost lost it a few times when that piece decided to slip off

I just wondered if when you gaffed the fish would it be a solid hold or would the end be bouncing because of the spring

I bought the 24" gaff from bowfishing extreme...it floats. Last year was my first time using it and I was happy with the results.

I took a 4 foot piece of hockey stick and screwed a 6 inch shark hook to it. Works great!

yep that's wat im thanking I got a fiberglass axe handle ima try to make something outta it

Bike hook (the ones to hang them in the garage) and a wooden closet dowel. Drill a pilot hole in the end, screw in the hook and sharpen with a belt sander. Less than ten bucks and floats.
