So I was trolling through fleabay looking at lights. Ran across these. Says it's a 50w light, but description says 20w emitter!!

Good catch. I found the same on some ballast last night.

maybe a type-O. the 4500 lm is not possible from 20w. message the seller for more info. I find a lot of listings like this. its the whole language barrier and the fact that most people that are pedaling these lights don't know near as much about them as do bowfishermen.

Yeah, I knew the lumens wasn't right for 20w, and it probably is a typo. I wasn't actually interested in buying them myself, just looking for some cheap lights for a buddy to put on his boat, so didn't inquire further. I was actually trying to make the point you stated that most people selling these things don't know nearly as much about them as most of us, so don't take the ads at face value, read everything they say in ad and if you're not 100% sure on what you're buying look elsewhere or clarify. A lot of these people are not easy to make returns to, or get replacements.
