MIGHT be selling the MotherShip-HULL ONLY-but what to ask price wise???

I know, this might cause a stroke or two, but I'm kicking around the idea of selling my boat-hull only. :jd:

I'm just WAY up in the air on what to ask for the hull? (BARE hull-the only thing I'd send with it is the gas tank and all the fittings/hoses for that)

NADA puts the bare hull, a 2000 model year MV1872AW SeaArk at $1800, but I've obviously got a 'little' more into her than that.

I'm sure the first question anyone is gonna ask, is 'why?' Well, no major issues with her at all, I just wanna make a few changes that would require MAJOR deconstruction, and I don't really wanna rip her apart to do that. One thing is have a removable floor-screw down, and I'm paranoid about reinforcing the ribs (yes, even the factory ribs). Plus I want to run additional plates or T bars on the inside of the hull to guard against denting, and stiffen up the hull. Plus I want a smaller gas tank-it's 27gal now, and with the weight of the outboard I hate running with a full tank. Plus, I've never needed much more that half that in any given day.

I have been chasing around a small leak (5" long hairline crack) in the keel the last few weeks, but I think thats finally fixed. It's been TIG'd along a 10" section, holes drilled at each end of the crack, and the crack itself was die-ground out. Took her out over the last few days and it's holding nicely. BUT we are welding on another 16ft long piece of angle over the existing keel just to make sure! Overkill, but at least it won't leak from the keel ever again! Thats the only issue the boats had recently, and it should be resolved. Several guys have seen and fished from her on here, and can vouch for it's durability.

The entire build has been pretty well documented-no surprises here:

This boat fishes like an indescribable wet dream, and I'm not 100% sure I'm going to sell her, but if I decide to, where would a fair price begin?

It all depends what its worth to you, not the market. If you arent 100% happy with what you are going to get for it, then dont sell it.

I know you need to, to get the new project going. Never an easy situation

Thats the nicest Mod-V bowfishing boat I ever saw! Cant believe after all that your thinking of selling!!! LOL
Wish I had the fund man, but I once I had the hull I wouldn't have any money left to rig it up! LOL
Good luck on the sale if you decide to let her go!!!

Its kinda hard to put a price on something like that. You have to figure the price of the hull plus all the material, and if your time is worth anything (i know mine is) you'd have a pretty pricey hull. But its how bad you wan2 get rid of it and what someone would pay...and as always great build I know I got a lot of ideas during your build

those sea arcs are expensive to start with in my book top of the line production boat. that boat with out a doubt is the sharpest custom sea arc i have ever seen . not knocking anybody's build on here. allot of hard work time and money spent here . people can say what they want to . call any builder up and ask a few prices i bet the deck alone is at least a grand

Ok…I will fix this. I’m not deleting these posts to protect ******* I’m deleting them to stop a fight before it starts. Gbollom tell carp commander you’re sorry for the miss understanding. Clark3 stay out of it. JBSedon I love that pop corn smiley but Ur not helping. And carp commander you need some tougher skin…just tell Gbollom to piss off in a p.m. or something … and for Ur boat, I like it a lot. But I have no useful input to help come up with a asking price = )

I'd say 4gs with trailer maby 4500?? I'd give ya that for it. I think fanf will build a 1772 with a deck, pods, a cc, 8" walk arounds for under 6?? Joe greenway got his for around that price I'm pretty sure.

Lol indeed....

NADA value for bare hull is at 1800. Ive put almost 3500 just in aluminum in this rig. And thats counting nothing for my time. I think Ive got an idea of what I would want from it though. :)

Well that's where you should start or a little higher :tu:

In a real world market any product/service is only worth what a consumer will pay for it.

4000 trailer Surely nt?? If so I dnt see sum1 paying 8gs for a used production boat an trailer no matter hw much custom work.... Just my .02 An 3800 in alu?? Omg alu must be crazy high where ur from.

yep, especially aluminum trailers, theyre not meant for going down the rough azz roads i think most people take them down. Saw a friend of ours boat trailer that had cracled and been "fixed" and cracked again.

An aluminum trailer that can handle abuse and survive would be worth a pretty penny
