picked up the bow this morning made one small adjust to the tube it now pulls the button at slightly over half draw so far every time used a piece of exercise tube from the exercise bands from wal-mart. now my buddies won,t be losing my arrows.:co:

Let's see some pics water snake
have heck with pictures but this was very easy to do took a piece of square box alum ,the inside with was a fit for the button, cut a piece 2 inches long traced a pattern on side of box with paint pencil with 2 small tabs or ears on one end about 1/4 inch by 3/8 inch the rest of piece just flat [ in other words just took one side of the box with ears on one end] deburred it drilled the ears for small hex headed bolt placed it on the button about 3/4 inch from bottom of button just far enough up on the button so when button is pushed it won,t jam on you that left about 1 inch of the alum plate extending down below the button drilled the button and pinned it to the button then did my measure for the arm used a piece of 3/8 alum rod think 1/4 would also work but didn,t want to have any flexing going on welded a piece of alum tube to end of rod that had a hole just large enough for diam. of the rubber tube after that cut the rod 31/2 inches long made some marks to where i wanted weld it to the alum pad on the button and at what angle i wanted the rod to sit in relation to the reel also out of the way of the handle took it off the button and welded the rod to the bottom of the pad if when you weld the rod your angles don,t come out like you wanted it is easy to heat rod and bend into shape had some small glass marbles worked one up in the end of rubber tube this makes a neat way to keep the tube from pulling through hole on the rod or plastic beads might be easier to find on this particular bow about 11 inches down from the nocking point worked the best to tie it to string placed a brass nocker at that point to keep the tube from working back up the string actually it suprised me how well it works.snake.

I'm truly sorry I offended you, I forgot how incredibly serious most of you take this Internet forum.
My one question is why you didn't call out anyone else who posted smart a$$ comments?

That's where I was going. Snake, can you do this thing the kids are raving about called the "text"? It's like typing but from your phone...

yep i heard about them doing that sorta thing my phone is a wreck brother got a new one i,ll get him to do it need a phone number though.

Has anyone done anything like this where the button gets pressed when the bow is drawn back? I did do some searching but didn't come up with anything. I could be way off on keywords, though.

I can't believe that Muzzy didn't design that feature into their new reel. Seems like an absolute no-brainer to me to do that sort of thing, but I guess Cajun was the only company that got that memo.

Anyway, has anyone ever seen this and could post how it was done?
Linkage, cords, more attachments and more junk to go wrong and get in the way when fishing.
The new lever on the new Muzzy XD Pro reel will lock out the reel in free spool until you shoot, then just flip the lever easily with a finger back over, turn the handle and the reel is engaged. Fool proof and simple to operate!

I would argue that it is anything but foolproof since you can still pull back and shoot without tripping the reel.

I got back last night and the new reel had shown up, so I plan on tearing into things tonight and tomorrow to see what I can come up with. Obviously I'll share the results if I manage to get anything to work!

Actually the lever indents on 1 side and locks the reel in open bail so no matter what you do to the handle, bump it or turn it, the reel is always in free spool until you physically switch the lever back to the opposite position. Which is very easy to do with a flick of your little finger. Plus it gives you a visual indicator of the reel being either open or locked as well. Works very nicely and actually pushes the rotor cover out more as well to open up the space between the rotor cover and spool and allow more unrestricted line flow, it definitely is a more fool proof, easier to use system that will alleviate alot of problems many new users and tournament shooters encounter when dealing with push button reels.
Just reel your line in, nock arrow, lay on rest, tighten up your slack line and flip the lever over and your done, nothing else to worry about until after you shoot the arrow, then just flick the lever back over with your finger after the shot and start reeling the arrow and fish back in. Pretty simple!
