I don't have the problem, BUT I'd love to upgrade my 50 to a 90hp too! Maybe that'd keep mine from possibly ever nose-diving in the future!

Mine does the same thing I'm usually not in three of taking on water but it gets close when I'm goin wot for a bit. Your fan is lifting the bacK up and the weight on the from is putting more boat in the water because your fan is pushing the back of the boat up and out like it's taking off.. Mines most boticeable with low amounts of fuel in my boat. I wouldn't worry about it keep your fish near the back and just don't go wot and if u need to to jump over somewhere tell your part era to jump down real quick. I wouldn't go refabbin

My deck is all aluminum. Its pretty light. I have been out a few times since I started this post. Same problems. I have all the weight as far back in the boat as possible. I have 2 12 gallon gas tanks, when they are full it is noticably better but still not good.
I think I am going to leave it alone this year...and add pods this winter. I figure they may dip the nose down a little when the fan is not running but theyshould help lift the whole boat out of the water once the fan starts pushing.

Does anyone disagree?

I do. If it lifts the rear of the boat it's only gonna be worse when the fans running hard.

well, again, Im not an expert but do have some experience.

1. DO NOT ADD PODS, that will only make your nose sink lower!!!!!

2. I doubt very seriously that the angle of your fan will make much if any difference

3. its a 16 foot boat, thats generally what I have seen happen with most all 16 foot fan and air boats. best best is to take one less person on your trips.

4. The rake of your hull (the span of your hulls bottom where it goes from the true flat bottom and curves up to the bow) is long and has alot of angle, meaning the way your bottom is designed, its gonna ride on the nose no matter what you do. Look at some F&F boats like Greenway's old one and compare the angle of the bow to yours and you will see what I mean.

Suggestions:

Get rid of troller, no since in keeping that weight up there while your running your fan. Wasted weight

take one less person. In my mind a 1660 is a two person boat, 3 is a crowd, 4 is redicilious.

I dont know what kind of fish you shoot or what buckets you use, but if your like some people and throw a big stock tank right behind the front deck and fill it with fish, your gonna have problems. Go get several small rubbermaid storage totes and stack them in the back of the boat as you fill them up. Thats what we do and it works perect 99% of the time.

also, your outboard looks tiny, what is it 15-20 hp?

Most 1660 fans that we have around here are set up with atleast a 70hp outboard, I think your a few hundred pounds short of what the rear of that boat needs to get it to perform normally...

65 hp motor...I guess it does look small though? 4 actually shoots really well - or did with the troller. The troller was my insurance until I knew the fan would work, it will be coming off soon.

I appreciate the help.

i have a 17' f&f with 18hp fan. dunno bout u but mine hardly ever goes off idle and still moves too fast. but even my f&f dives the nose a bit if i full throttle the fan. i have pods n compared to a similar setup of a friends without pods his nose dives worse than mine. gotta remember pods not only adds flotation but it makes boat longer too
