I know PSE sells the Nova for bowfishing. Is the Deer Hunter/Nova Team Fitzgerald the same? Could i mount an AMS Retriever just the same? B/c i found a good deal for the Deer Hunter/Team Fitzgerald locally ($100). Worth getting for a basic bowfishing setup?

The new PSE Nova bowfishing bow is not the same as the PSE hunting bow that you are referring too. Although PSE has made a Nova model hunting bow for quite a while (several years I think), not just the bowfishing specific "Nova" bow. Any bow will work for bowfishing, but do not confuse the two bows that you are asking about as the same, because they are not. Most bowfishing bows are designed with no let off cams or a very limited let off cam (such as the PSE Nova bowfishing specific bow). Hunting bows are the opposite. They typically offer between 65%-80% letoff. I hope this helps. I am just clarifying for you.

The Team Fitzgerald "Deer Hunter" has plastic(nylon) wheels with 3 slots in it for draw length adjustment. The larger of the 3 base wheels comes from the factory with a 29" draw length and can be adjusted +-1".

The medium base cam comes pre-set at 27" and can adjust +-1" also.

The smaller of the wheels comes in at 24" and adjustable +-1" too.

I believe the weight ranges were 65# max on the 29",55# max on the 27",and 40#max on the 24"

It is a Nova riser and limbs and the only differences are the plastic wheels rather than cams, steel cabling and teardrop string rather than a full synthetic string/cable set.

Should make you a great bowfishing bow! :tu:

I bought a Team Fitzgerald for mydaughter to bow hunt with when she turned 12. Ten years ago. She outgrew it so I set it up as a spare bowfishing bow. It is my favorite bow and I use it almost exclusively even though I have many bows made specifically for bowfishing. It will make you a great bow. If you don't like it. I WILL BUY IT from you. IMO steel buss cables are a plus for bowfishing.
