NO!

this is my understanding on it, may be wrong. sure someone will set it straight if i am. a generator dosnt give a smooth constant power supply, its up and down. that is what kills a troller. the genny feeds the powermax. the powermax converts the power from 120 to 12 volt. the battery is then fed by the powermax. the battery puts out a constant 12 volts no matter what. the battery is used to "smooth" out the power supply and save your troller from being burnt up. i kept my fuse in place as well. sounds like a lot but in reallity your only adding a powermax in between the genny you arleady have and the troller set up you already have.
That's what I was thinking. Although at the recent boat show bass tracker had their 1860 sportsman there. They had all 12v leds and the generator hooked straight to the Genny. I was wondering how they got away with that.

i have no idea. i run a honda eu2000 and was advised against it.

unless thier genny has a built in converter?

i ran a 1648 for years. adding float pods made a world of difference for me. i would suggest adding them. my rig was overloaded and over worked. the pods made it plae out faster and i could take off in shallower water since the rear end set higher. i had a flush deck with a 4' mid deck that housed all my batteires and conveter. the rear end had a poling platform that the genny set on along with gas and motor on the rear. i normally fished 3 grown men. 2 up front and one on the mid deck. either it was 3 guys or my family of 5. 3 little boys that equaled the weight of a 3rd man. we spread out and NEVER had a problem with weight or it being unstalbe. so back to your origional question: pods will NOT make it more stable but IMO pods vastly improve a 1648.

Yep, hate to jump in at this point, a boat don't make much money unless you host your own tournament based on numbers with a air boat in a area where theres only 12" of water on average:laugh: I have a loan on my current boat, had a loan on the one before that also, regretted every minute of it. each scratch hurts a little... pay cash
for toys always save and pay cash having a hard time with getting that across to my grand kids they like the modern way [new and right now].:D

Thanks for the knowledge man.

Any of your converter questions you have you can PM me, I set mine up earlier this year and know plenty about them. But DO NOT run them straight to your troller unless you hate your trolling motor... Run them to a battery where you have the rest of your stuff hooked up

Oh jeez. Life is so hard. High school sucks. Hot chicks everywhere. It's awful. I don't even have a mortgage. Life is terrible. Gimme a break kid!!!! The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary. I'm gonna argue with my buddy Rambo on this one. Don't borrow money for a toy. Your tit will be in the wringer faster than you can say ouch. If you need to build credit, make sure it's on something that will make you a profit. (Could be a boat?)Cash stacks up when you don't pay interest. I love putting the screws to "The Man"!!!
Seriously dude. Hot chicks. Everywhere.
I know, schools all great but honestly, I work 30 hours a week and go to school full time, it's not all that great if you think about it. 8 hours a day with no money to show then 6 hours a day after school working. All that to pay for my god damn bowfishing addiction... Saved up, bought a boat, with cash. Need this, need that, need a welder, need an oneida, (need or want?...) School isn't all that bad but money is nice to have too...:D I shot with my cousin for awhile before I bought my boat, so I started guiding trips shortly after I bought my boat to help make back all the money I've spent on it! That does half of my weekends in and that's only because I don't do much advertising!!!

This is why there is a SBC LS on the engine stand in my shop. I went to the river Monday with Tim. When it comes to the gals on the river, he's got more game than Madison Square Garden, and I have pictures to prove it.

Sounds like you're not afraid of a little work, and that's a great quality to have. I ask two pass/fail questions of every potential employee.
1. What kind of trouble have you been in? (Any type of stealing is an automatic fail)
2. Where did you graduate high school? (Nobody like a quitter, especially if he's a dumb ass.)

Knowledge is power, and there is almost always a direct link between education and income. Learn all they will teach you. It will come in handy.

That's awesome that you are guiding a little. I thought about it, but I don't have time to get my captain's license, and the liability insurance is outrageous. The Coast Guard inspection looks like a piece of cake.

Don't forget about the hot chicks......They LOVE motorboatin!
