We need some vid of how well your boat runs. Be creative, put it through some tests for us to see how it does. Show how well it turns, how shallow,fast...any demos would be great. After all we have all seen trollers run but I have yet to see any kicker rigs abilities.

That's a good idea! Some video working swift current, hydrilla beds and u-turns in tight areas would be good also.

I would love to show ya when mine gets done I was telling my buddy that I almost believe that with as much turn as my little Merc has I should be able to turn like a tug boat
You likely won't be able to get full turning radius out of the real small motors that turn almost 180 degrees. But you will find that you won't need it. I have a 15hp Evinrude. They don't turn but about 90-100 degrees I suppose but my boat still turns on a dime and then some!!

I will be more than happy to do a video after I get done making some strategic changes to the boat!!

I dont have video, but I can put the left front corner of my 1770 aginst a stationary object and turn circles around it without that front corner of the boat moving more than a few inches away from that object. You can run fish down, cover more water than a troller. I hope to never run a troller again!!!!!!! Sure are alot of kicker threads lately!! Archertoo, I wished you lived closer I would take you fishing on mine....I promise you will like the kicker rig.

A guy never knows maybe by the grace of God I'll be able to take you up on that.
I've had my eye on all the kicker builds and it definitely is the way I want to go!

Weather permitting, I will video some this weekend!! Looking forward to it as I just got my boat rigged up and have never actually ridden in a kicker. I am not sure what to video though. I guess I'll just play around some and see what turning radius I get and top speed.

Does anyone have any size specs and location find the pulley located at the base of the steering shaft. For those of you who use the the twist stye sterring, not push, pull.
I've heard to use a sprocket and chain, then tie in the cable, but I've also seen the big pulley at the bottom.

The fish were few and far between the other night, so here are a few short clips of my boat. I didn't realize my friend was filming or I would have gotten better footage. The second video is of us going around a shoal marker. We didn't really open it up in any of these clips bc the water was so muddy and we had a hard time seeing fish.

Thank you Scoutlover, are you happy with the way it turned out?
I am very pleased with it. Only thing I am concerned about is that the motor isn't quite low enough in the water. It would be a major pain to have to add a bracket to lower it and redo all the steering, so I am gonna deal with losing a few mph and enjoy being able to go in shallower water!!
