Thanks for great advise Capt Obvious.

No one ever said that LED where the best. Yes HPS and MH put out more light but we all have our own reasons for trying something new. I personally like the fact that they are smaller and lighter and in ruff water I dont have to worry about busting bulbs.
Don't mention it capt save a thread. I read the title and posted my thoughts.

I have leds and I am totally envious of the output of sodiums right up until I hear that generator running all night. Then they pass and its back to silence. I love that about leds.
That is pretty dang nice, and so is not having to buy fuel for the generator. What's also nice is being able to see fish way the frig out yonder and not have to strain your eyes all night in hopes of spotting fish to kill.

we don't have to strain our eyes all night hoping to find fish and we seem to get good distance out of out leds. Yeah we can see them from across the lake but we can still take shots out to 15 yards or so off my boat

Not unless you run honda EU2000's and they purr like a kitten.:tu:

I put on the Light Yellow Amber headlight tint on tonight. Tomorrow night I'll see how it goes on the water. I like the way they look, very transparent look, were you can see the LED lights. I can see their will be a big difference with the Light Yellow Headlight tint (which I installed)will put out a lot more light than the Orange Amber & Yellow Transparent Amber tint.

I think the translucent yellow is gonna give you a similar effect to the half and half amber/clear lights you did. Il post in a second the seller on Ebay I bought the amber im using. Looks quite a bit different than what you had. Looks more like a frosted amber on yours and very translucent on mine. Def wanna see water results. And I will do the pics in water this weekend.

FWIW, Last night I tried a red and a green filter on two of the front lights, so we had one red, one green, and 4 white. 50W cool white LED. Red was garbage, way worse. Green = Awesome! it didnt seen to light up the particles in the water, it was better in the murk and better in the more clear water, going to try amber and yellow as well and report back.
Green was the ticket for sure, defineately took that dizzy, blinding glare off the water. And yes ill be ordering them aswell. We pulled the red off in about what? 5min?

to be quite honest, my lens are textured lens on my 40W's my 27W are smooth with the back side of the lens texture. The lens film is smooth and quite translucent, I have to disagree with you about the Light Yellow Lens film, I believe no judgement should be made until I post the pictures when my boat is on the water. Plus my test are with 40W LED flood's & 27W LED floods, the out will be quite different on yours vs mine, that is something to ponder. I have 2 more 40W Floods ordered to mount up front.

Oh so the lens on the light was giving it the.frosted look? Interesting. That will make a difference in all my staements. I still feel like the darker amber 1/2 covered the way they blended would equal the lighting of the yellow. Should be pretty cool to see the.difference.
