Pretty sure this is at the point it should be locked. Its really a repeating arguement of those who think anyone shooting a 14 foot boat is overloading it and those who think you can hop in it with a troller and kill fish.

Im gonna go hop in mine and kill some fish. :)
I'm curious why close the thread, no one is dising anyone. Some are simply stating 36" beam isnt the way to go. No one hador has a issue with 14ft boats. I fish from a 14-48.

Fishing three out of my 1436 is super sketchy if I could go back I would have atleast got a 1448
See this is where the problems start. Unless you've added float pods front and rear or at a bare minimum some out riggers you should never fish three out of a 1436.

I agree with Glass, prices vary greatly. I shopped for 6 months scouring all the craigslist's within a few hundred miles of me for a 14-16' Jonboat. Not only were there not any good deals but there weren't any period. Everyone tells you to weight, but in the meantime you're not on the water. Buy the boat, build it up, Flip it for a profit and buy a bigger boat!

We have a 1436 jon boat that we shoot three out of regularly. Plywood flush deck, four 150 HPS and three 250 Halos. Two up on deck with 45 thrust troller and one behind the barrel shooting clean up lol. Never sank it but came close one time when we sprung a leak, never due to over loading. We have filled up a 55 gallon barrel and all the extra floor space up with fish.

Picture is from before we added the HPS and we ran all halos

:tu: true that....dont think any of the guys are saying that you caint use that boat to shoot fish but they wouldnt... cause most of us have tried .....and no your are gonna wish you just saved you money for a bigger one...Now there is another option and is what i did.....buy it... use it ....have fun...fix up make a profit and keep going up till you get what you want...
