Went fishing with hacksaw Friday night and had a blast. He's a true bowfisher through and through. Hacksaw had a American eagle and asked me if I'd like to shoot it, hell ya! Bad ass shoots twice as hard and smoother then a osprey. He warned me before hand that if I shot it I'd buy one and he was correct. If ever given the chance too fish with hacksaw jump on it.

Bill i really enjoyed meeting you and i had a great time glad yall came over i hate it that i didnt get ya on a big ole flathead but im happy that i got to give you your first chance at shooting an AE bow and stickin fish off a pontoon your welcome to go anytime you want to make the drive . Lol im glad i warned ya about that eagle before ya shot it but thats bout all i can say is if ya shoot one your gonna own one imo hardest hitting bow pound for pound on the market and super fast .

Ya twice as hard. There is no comparison between the osprey and American eagle. I ordered a new osprey and its in the classifieds for sale without even shooting it. The A.E. is the tightest and most balanced bow I have ever shot. Just shoot one and you will say the same thing.

I've shot one. I'm on the list for one. But the one I shot didn't shoot twice as hard as my Osprey. Just sayin.

My osprey and my eagle are both right around 48 lbs and i will guarantee you that eagle will drive an arrow twice as far in a big fish as my osprey . I use my osrey in shallow water cuz if i miss with it i can pull the arrow right out of the bottom and if i miss with the eagle its buried plus the eagle will blow right through most fish in shallow water . Anybody that wants to can come shoot my eagle at fish off my toon anytime and then make your own mind up . If things work out ill be at texoma lake this coming weekend and if anyone down in that part of the world want to shoot an eagle give me a hollar .

My Osprey is set at 35#s and if I draw it all the way it blows through fish too. If I'm shooting in shallow water I try not to pull it back to full draw or it will bury up in the mud too. :dh:

I must have a weak osprey then mine wont blow thru most fish set at 48 and i wouldnt even dream about trying to shoot fish with it set at 35 or maybe my shallow water isnt what you call shallow im saying 3 foot or less is shallow either way im not selling AE bows just saying what i see. When i went from a cuda to an osprey it was night and day difference and there are gonna be guys argue that cudas are better than ospreys i wouldnt trade my osprey for a semi load of cudas but the cuda is still a good bow ive still got 3 of them . If the eagle didnt perform as i say it does i would dang sure tell ya about it i have nothing to gain by saying what i do about them .

Same here, if I see a nice cat, the carp become an afterthought for a bit. And it only takes about a 5 lb channel cat for me.
Hits twice as hard...to me that means twice as much KE. 1/2 mv^2. Meaning, to double energy (twice as hard) you need sqrt 2 times the velocity with the same arrow. That is, 41 percent faster velocity.
That simply is not happening. A 135 fps fish arrow from an osprey is not turning into a 191 fps fish arrow from an AE at the same draw weight. Hell, at any draw weight.
Even if you are talking penetration (or in this case, double penetration :jd if the bow and arrow is tuned really well for the shooter, it will penetrate well. If it hits the fish a certain spot, it will penetrate well.
Also, you are putting in to the bow whatever is coming out of the bow. If you think it shoots faster, it might be that it does shoot a little faster, just chrony it and take away the mystery.
I don't doubt it is a great bow, and anybody can say what they want (as long as it is not negative about a BFC sponsor), but I doubt the maker would be willing to say "My bow hits twice as hard as an osprey at the same draw weight, here are the chronograph results."

Saw you guys out there, your boat isn't hard to miss lol. Glad you guys shot a few, we had enough people on my boat, we couldn't plane out and had to run in about 10 foot of water so we didn't scrape bottom. It was still fun though and we got to poke a few

Wow I didn't want to turn this into a pissing match but looks like I did. I've owned more then one osprey and in no way at all did they compare too a American eagle. Not saying osprey isn't a great bow but just wait and c for yourself once Joe gets production going you won't b Abel to give a osprey away. Posted th is thread to say thanks to hacksaw for taking me fishing and being a great guy. Ibgot a new osprey that I haven't and won't shoot because I have tasted something better then coolaid I would call it crown royal select imo the bow I shot of hacksaws was top shelf and so was he
