Thinking about buying some dollar pool noodles at the local family dollar store for my railing on the deck. But i'm not sure if there is a certain color that i shouldnt use, Due to the carp being able to see the coloring on the railing when i shoot during the day. I was thinking maybe a darker red or even some lime green noodles?

Yeah that popped into my head also, But i'm kinda curious if there is any other colors out there that wouldnt spook them yah know?

just the black stuff is fine. you can get that from lowes or HD. i THINK ASLONG AS YOU STAY AWAY FROM ODD COLORS YOU WILL BE OKAY. fish see red i know so i wouldnt use that one.

Pipe Insulation with black electrical tape. The Insulation and the tape actually held my rail together last year when I busted a weld. Probably more expensive than pool noodle but a little sleeker profile. I'm not sure if you've noticed but bowfishing has emerged from it's ******* beginnings. Now a days it's all about flashy colors that make everybody at the gas station come over and talk to you. Who cares how many fish you spook as long as you look good doing it!!!

I think i'm just more then likely going to go with sky blue pool noodles because i can get them for a dollar a peice... And easy install with some zipties. and if i don't like it i can just take it off for the cost of what like 15 bucks tops lol.

Did the railing today, I think it turned out pretty good actually!

Looks good. Didn't remember why the electric tape until just now. If you shoot a spinner your line will cut the noodle. Not so much with a retriever. Tape helps with that. All colors look the same covered in blood and guts

Yeah I just started to shoot spinners haha. We will see how these noodles hold up. Was only 8 bucks to do this lol

Mine are wrapped with heavy duty duct tape and have been good for five years so far.

I tried them and they didnt hold up as well as the pipe insulation .

I have a hand rail I mounted in the center of my deck (helps the greenhorns feel safer:laugh:. I wrapped it with blue pool noodles with zip ties and than wrapped it with camo gorilla tape. The fish will never see it comming:shh:. The rail is nice to lean against after several hours of shooting but it does get in the way some alsoop:.
