what exactly is it and how does it work?

Attaches to your sight holes and extends down towards a spin reel button. you activate the cast button on your spinner with your index finger on your bowhand. makes checking your button more convenient. I have one on my FB Discovery and one on my Oneida LFM now.

Very cool design. I like the fact that it screws into the sight holes so you can use it with an F&D reel seat.

There are 48 different mounting combinations on this one which should work for most medium length risers/reel seat/reel combinations.
