Trim Tabs

Anyone use trim tabs. I've got an 1872 boat with a gill plate, used to be a troller now kicker, after my conversion I've had more issues with the boat wanting to porpoise in any kind of rough water unless I have guys standing up front. I've been doing some research on Nauticus smart tabs ST1290. that seems like it may fix the issue however mounting may be a bit tricky and just wondering if anyone else has used them and there experience. I also just talked to my local Marine dealer and they suggested adjusting the motor up a bit? I'm concerned about cavatation.

Any thoughts or advice appreciated.

Are you sure the motor is not under-propped? I have a boat that came with too small/low pitched prop and it was bad about porpoising until I put a faster pitch on it. It also handles MUCH better at idle which surprised me.

I have those trim tabs on my boat. Waste of my money.

Because they are "self-adjusting" the only pressure you get is from the little gas shock on them and it wasn't nearly enough for my boat. (Lowe Stinger 175 with a 75 E-Tec)

I milled two wedges out of 6061 aluminum and welded them to the bottom of my boat. Solved my issue.
