Thanks!! I have one other thing up my sleeve if I can get the blasted thing to work!!!:headbang:

Tim's is the only option for what the whole design is about.I appreciate personal ingenuity but Gary's while it will serve a purpose still has abrupt angles to tangle on,which is one of the main issues Tims design removes

Gary on that one you made I can easily see a loop of line curl around and hook behind the the pipe section. That is why TJ's works so well, even if your line is worn out or twisted and wants to form 4" loops as you reel up the end, there is nothing to catch on. It may not happen with a fresh spool of monkey wire, but it could happen with some worn out fast flight. If you cut the back end of that pipe section to smooth it out it would work similar to TJs but would take a lot more time to clean up the edges.

TJ are those two in that picture shorter than your originals? Cause it looks like your rod shrunk some.

...yes,exactly.Anybody that has shot for any amount of time, has at some time or another(I get em all the time)had a "Mystery Loop/knot",they grab anything they can, string, rest, reel handle...etc,usually they mean a lost arrow. The less things there is to let them grab the better...that is why so many shoot an epoxy style rst....

I haven't had this problem glass, I welded the rod to the tube in that specific spot for a reason. If your arrow gets stuck in the mud, wrap your line around the rod under the tube, use the tube like a T handle and pull it free.

It's got the line puller built into the original concept, looks cleaner that way.

It's also incredible strong, the problem with bending a tube and cutting a hole on it, is you jeopardize the structural integrity. Which probably isn't a big dead since the line will more than likely break before the rod bends.

Gauran-****in-tee you can't bend mine

Gary, I really like your design. If the guys are really worried about their line looping 2" out of the spool face they should reach deep down in their pockets grab $10 and buy a new spool of fresh, untwisted, unfrayed line.

that being said, i do see the simple practicality of TJ's too.

Kuger I have made them shorter. I will try to get the one you ordered done next week. I had some bad luck hit me this week and my shop got flooded From a storm that came through Tuesday. I've had to do a lot of cleaning up this week.

There's a million different ways to skin a cat, most of them will work. That's just how I saw it in my mind, and it works well for me. I'm all about building your own stuff because it leads to a greater satisfaction when it works.

I stuck 9 fish last night with my D2, using my own hand made rest and my own rod. It was very rewarding!

no rush my friend. The original is still holding tight which I didnt think it would using that coupler!I have play in the reel foot and seat now...another issue to resolve;)

...you my friend obviously havent shot much....it has zero to do with old line......

just because i dont have 11,483 post on BFC, doesnt mean i havent shot much.
...yea,and that has everything to do with anything huh?Just as I said........shoot a little before ya start offering expert advice

Got Shoot Throughs on both of my bows, I was sold after the first day with my first one. Never a tangle and with have been pulling up 20 lbs of weeds with it no problem. Once and a while I accidentally shoot a fish but then go right back to harvesting weeds.

Yep, I shot for "fun" for two years with my cousin, never lost an arrow, never broke a reel, never any carp eggs behind my ears.

Now that Im doing some real harcore shooting (when the fish allow it) If Im not losing an arrow or two a trip, Im doing something wrong!

Few hundred shots a night will really maximize your percentages of a mystery knot, blowing up knocks, dry firing etc etc
