I know it sounds like I'm on a rant and I sort of am but don't take it personal. I see the same things happen every year and even see a lot of people doing the same dumb chit every year even tho they know it's wrong and it kind of burns my ass.I know lots of people that shoot for about an hour total with field points at the start of season.Usually several groups at 20 and a hand full at 30 and they're done "TUNING" for the season. Then they screw on their new razor sharp broadheads and hit the woods.Their silly asses cant be dulling up their hunting heads by shooting them into foam because they got to be razor sharp ya' know.Truth be known I can shoot my broadheads 50 times into a sand pile and still kill the chit out of a deer just fine but they don't know that lol. FACT: Expandables don't always hit the same point of impact as field points so they need to be tuned just like fixed blades. FACT: You can screw on a Slick Trick and the odds of them grouping with your field points without doing anything to your bow are about as good as doing the same thing with an expandable. Fact: Hitting the woods without knowing exactly where your broadheads are hitting from 0 yards to however far you are willing to shoot at a deer is ratarded. Fact: Doing the same things over and over again but expecting different results is the only thing that constitutes insanity.
lol...you go thru alot just to wind up sittin' in a tree with some sandblasted broadhead blades! Sharp is not the same as scalpel, artery slicing, won't quit bleedin' sharp...

How do you tune fixed blade broadheads? My favorite broadhead, fixed blade of course don't want to mess with mechanicals, is the Magnus Stinger 2 Blade. My little brother shoots with a 35lb bow and at 15 yards, he got a complete pass through with them.
My advice would be to download the Eastons Tuning Guide first because it covers all of the basics of paper tuning and walk back tuning and even tells a little bit about archers paradox to help you gain a better understanding of what arrows do once they leave the bow.Joining forums like Bowcountry and AT is a good idea if you want to do some quick and easy research. Both places have tons of info as well as many other archery forums.

I don't doubt it because it don't take much KE to zip an arrow through a deers ribs.I hung up a big buck up in a tree that wasn't field dressed and shot an arrow through it.I know the arrow went over 200 yards after shooting through the deer because it went plum out of seeing distance and I never found it lol.

Hitting brisket, shoulder, spine, etc are what can cause a person problems especially when shooting low KE and large cutting diameter heads.

 Yeah I know right.Actually I used some heads that were that bad dull to finish some off to save my good ones. You would be surprised how much damage a dull head will do tho.An arrow is cooking pretty fast and when it hits then a dull head is going to to almost as good of a job as a sharp one will. Not quite but pretty dang near it.

I shot a little buck between the ears with a Judo point one time because I spined him between the shoulder blades and I didn't want to trash a good arrow. If you haven't ever tried pulling a Judo out of a deers skull then you're in for a treat lol.

There's my preference...any razor sharp, true flying, broadhead in the boiler room will do the the trick.I'm bad about matching my bow, arrow, broadhead setups to particular situations or species.I know that out of any modern compound bow, just about any broadhead will kill anything on the planet...I just have more confidence suiting a specific broadhead to the game at hand.I won't list brands because I shoot so many different heads until I finally choose which one I will be using.

btw,who died?

i only shoot the g5 motecs but will be trying the slick tricks after i use em all up...but my bro shot the rages and rarely had an exit hole the same size as the entrance since the blades always bent up. But if they didnt they left a heck of hole and blood trail, but the local biologist hates them for the reason of poor penitration with non proper tuned bows and people not having enough KE and trying to shoot rages

Expandable- Rage 2 blade, Spitfire
Non-Expandable- Slick Trick, Muzzy 3 blade
