I did it on my daughters bow it really was easier to teach her to push the button. I tied a lever off the cable to pull it and push the button. You have to put a spring in the link so it will push at 1/4-1/2 draw but not stop the cable going to full.
Spring in the link! Duh Brady!!! Yea like I said I was 15/16 years old sitting in my shop not wanting to do homework, so I rigged it up, played with it a few times and got it working perfect and never touched the subject again...but a spring! That would fix my problem!

just got back from the shop made a alum bracket that fit the button on the muzzy reel welded a short rod to the bracket had to twist the reel over slightly, had a piece of exersize tubing i mounted to the rod on the buttion just a hole the tubing would pass through on the end of the rod worked a small marble in the end of the rubber tube larger than the hole in the rod so it wouldn,t pull through.mounted the other end of tube about 11 inches down from arrow nocking point. had to draw the bow several times to get the llength right on the tube for the mounting point on the string.the strength of the rubber tube that is used will determine this.but got it to working every time do have to pretty much come to a full draw still going to punch the button as always this is for the times we forget this setup is on a jennings forked lighting bow its a good shooter.

Glad you found a " presidential solution" to such a complex problem, and by the way :wl:

Just tie to the back and push the button when u nock i constantly push the button with my finger to make sure its pushed cuz its close enough to the grip that i can hit it with my knuckle and with tieing to the back and its not pushed the arrow just falls off the string

Will this device make my bow weigh less? If not I'm not interested.
i hear you didn,t weight the alum. bracket and 13 inches of tube probably added maybe 1 ounce it is a right hander for right handed friends.it does work very well.

For real just push the button and shoot fish and quit the complexity
The last thing I want is to start a pissing match on the forum, but really, why does it bother anyone that I want to mod my reel so that I don't need to press a button every time? I'm hoping to develop a fail-safe in case someone forgets to press it and its one less thing to deal with. If you don't like my idea, that's fine. I don't have a problem with that. But why bother posting in the thread if you don't like the idea? All it does is irritate the people that are actually interested in the topic.

Here's my rationale for it...yes, I should be smart enough to push the button...my wife however is blonde...if you get this to work I need to do it to her bow@@:D

this is kinda the way of the entire site. everybody gives you chit about every little detail. that is until you produce something worth while. still then most will tell you how it wont work for them. just keep in mind this world thrives on new ideas. and as a "outside the box" thinker I thrive on people telling me" it caint be done". just use it as fuel man. only untill your vision becomes a living, breathing, working idea thats been tested for a while will good numbers get onboard.
