A couple of years ago by my house there was a big lion hit by a truck. I called fish and game and they told me to call pd. So I did and pd told me to call fish and game. When I told him I did already he said well there's nothing else we can do here and Hung up. About a month later a buddy and me were walking up the river right next to where it was hit cause we though it was dead and met up with it face to face. I bout chit my pants but it ran and then we ran the opposite way. Then it ate my nieghbors chiwawa. Nothing has been done still.
I killed quite a few kitty's in Santa Cruz County. One they shut down Hwy 17 at Moody Curve...I shot it on the white line. They didnt and dont have a contract with the gov.so there is nobody to do anything about it.I went because I was friends with the F&G lieutenant and he asked me to

Trasure is correct, very rare to ever see em,even here where they are thick!!!

should have shot him, nice trophy.
Yeah for the opossum cops lol.A guy trapped one here a few years ago.He called the conservation and asked them what he could do with a mountain lion if he killed one. They told him that he could do what he wanted since there was no such thing as lions in Mo.He said, "thanks, that's all I needed to know" then he hung up.They arrested him within the hour and fined him 10 or 15 grand.

A friend of a friend traps bears and lions here for the conservation.I asked him about the implanted transmitters and he said that was bullchit! He said if it doesn't have a collar on it then it can not be tracked. If you see one then kill its ass.If it's wearing a collar then cut it off and dispose of it somewhere that can not be tracked back to you.

Thats right too....lions cant be implanted because there skin is so thin....now wolves on the other hand, are and within an hour of them being dead send a "signal",and they will(Jon Law)come lookin

I highly doubt you will ever see it again, we also have tons of cats and not very often do u see one unless u run dogs! They are very smart and aware of there surroundings, if you have a handful of cats u will most likely never see another.
I know the odds of seeing it again are slim. But, a talked to some folks around there and they said they have seen it for the last 3-4 years. I have a pretty good idea of where the best spot the see it again is. Who knows? I can promise I will bs better prepared if there is a next time.

there not even protected here in Texas. you can kill'em year round 24-7 with no bag limits. most folks around here will tell you there isnt any, but ive seen some, and have friends that have seen some. they are here, and i really want to hunt them but sitting in the deer blind just doesnt seem to work. is there any way to bait them out?

Seen sign of'em on the Red River down there. Even had a buddy's girlfriend get a miniature donkey killed by one. I forget the name of that exotic critter zoo on the Oklahoma side of the Red, but they got a bunch of lions penned up in there. I knew the vet that worked the breeding operation at the horse ranch right across the road from there. She used to say that when the female cougars were in heat at the zoo early in the morning before the sun came up the treeline by the side of the road would be glowing with eyes from the wild males coming up off the river bottom to try to get at them.

The KDWP tried pulling the "there are no lions in Kansas" chit for years til someone finally got one on a trail cam a couple years ago and they had to come clean. I've personally seen 2 live ones and another one dead before they admitted it. One was walking along a fence line in a pasture calm as could be, the other ran across the road in front of us. Seen tracks in the sandhills too. Also seen chit that I'm pretty sure was from a lion. They're around, no doubt about that.

Truthfully besides dog runnin em,thats your best chance of seein one.No you cant "bait",em,I have had ranch managers stake goats out in hopes of one "feasting" on them, only to have the cat walk right by and kill a different goat or deer.If you find something they did kill and its not rotten, you can put that in a big cage trap and may catch em.

Not lagit I highly doubt they've seen it for 3 or 4 years, but you never know. They do not like people or showing there selves. There wild cats, just think of you're house cat there almost too smart sometimes.

The DNR have said for years that we dont have em here. One got hit and killed on the road a few years ago and they said that it was an isolated incident. I have seen one while driving and I know farmers that have seen em.
They are not protected here so we can shoot em if we see em but gettin a shot if very unlikley.

I know they have seen it. I'm hUntign on club property and talked to the guy the actually owns It and is a close personal friend. He said he was on the combine and saw it about a year ago but hasn't seen it since. That's why he wasn't shocked when I told him.

I'm not doubting bud! Simply stating u don't just see them kittys everyday! Actually pretty cool u seen one, ya know. We have thousands and very rarely do u see one without a hound dog. We have property in illinois and I saw a bobcat, when I got back and told the fellas they said u seen what????? Being from daho I didn't relize illinois was lacking bobcats, we have plenty here so I didn't really thinl twice about it. Anyway u get what I'm saying, maybe???

It is very uncommon to see em,but they (especially females) do have a home range and it is usually around a 20 mile area. She may not leave that "area",her whole life.Males on the other hand range, and can go hundreds of miles. They have kind of a regimen as well. They will travel there area, kind of a big circle.I have actually "predicted",when they were going to be back through and eat a(or many) sheep or goat or whatever.Pretty cool.

I would not be too worried as said, but if they are going to get you,you will never know its coming.Felines attack from the back. You ever see the "natives",with the masks on the backs of there heads in tiger country?Thats why!If you do see one DO NOT RUN,because just like any wild animal it brings out a chase instinct(watch your house cat....no interest in a rag lying on the floor, until you drag it...boom instant interest huh?Best thing to do if you do see one is watch your back,if they think you have seen them they lose interest.I have been on several human fatality scenes, but I have spent thousands of hours in lion infested country all times of the day and often squealing like a dying animal....never ever been attacked
