25hp aint no daisy but there's no replacement for displacement.I have seen a few boats the size of what you're talking about with smaller fans and they kill fish fine.Pushing over and through stuff and faster maneuverability is where more hp comes in handy.I got a 25hp on mine.It does pretty good. It's a 1672.

Bc is right, your gonna need at least 28+ hp on a boat that large with a reduction. Also, in order to spin a larger prop youll need the reduction. Remember, the larger the prop blades the more effecient the motor is. I would recomend a 35hp briggs vanguard or kholer, with reduction, and at least a 3 blade 57" prop. I found some good deals on some vanguard motors. But your looking at close to 1200 for just the prop and reduction.

ye thats y we wonted to ask u guys that kno everyone has their own opinion and some would say u could use a 15hp and others a 35hp i def kno that we need a reduction lol

Well the 3% added by using a reduction isnt always spot on. You might not gain much more than one or 2 hp because youll prolly have to turn like a 42" prop, which is very in effecient for that size of boat. 24hp isnt going to push an 1872 very well. I mean, it would basically eliminate the advantage of having a fan. Plus, the motor life from running it wide open all the time. You can get a 25-28 hp motor for about $300 more, and it would be worth it. I dont know what kind of set up your thinking about doing, but a fan stand could cost 250-500 if you have it built out of alum, and if you do it yourself way less than that. Then your lookin at 650 for the reduction. Then 450-500 bucs for a composite prop. Front steer set up will set you back a few hundred, and if you use a 3/8" teleflex push pull cable your looking at 186$. So your at close to 1500 before you even buy the motor. a little more money spent now, to have the right set up is better than scratching it later If you decide you want a bigger motor youll have to spend 450 bucs and buy a whole new prop, alter the shroud, ect. I found some 31hp briggs for 1250 with shipping included. Which is a steal

PM me for the info on those vanguard motors. They're brand new, 2 year warranty, I think he has 2 left. I'm buying a 35 hp from him for a fan set up were building for a guy. I think he has a couple new 28hp with. 1 1/4" output shaft for 900
