Jenk, that is an awesome job on the trailer. Looks like it rolled off the lot like that! :tu:

The Dealer told me
"Used Tandems are like Unicorns......Only found in Fairytales".
Oh they're out there, free ones also...ok so it looks like it was free but what a huge difference it made goin tandem! I was going through tires with the stock single axle and that was some scary driving over the pass each time! You will all be very happy with this change.

I would recommend, just go to a boating supplier and get the bolt on kit. It is a pre fab unit, galvanized, and will bolt on wherever. The main uprgade would be stainless shackles. Those are the wear parts.

Got my trailer set up as a tandem Friday night... still need to add fenders and adjust my bunks to put more of the weight on the back... I think I might be a tad to tongue heave and my hitch height is to low...

Thanks for your Help Jenks... I should have turned my nuts to the outside so I could keep a eye on them to make sure nothing is backing out... so far so good... found the torque specs for everything on axle manufacture site... also fixed my level equalizer problem with a strait hitch which I should have had in the first place since my trailer was never level... still think my tongue weight is too much and should have checked that before hung my equalizer hanger because I could have moved everything forward 3 in... now I need to build new bunks... this stuff never ends...lol...

What did u end up doing with the boat... I mean to get it off the trailer?

Here's mine. Everything went pretty well till I realized I should have pulled the tail light wiring out before I started. So got to rewire the trailer when I finished.
Factory frame was pretty flimsy and it was easier to pre-assemble the hangers on the angle before getting them under the trailer. Still have to move one bunk support and add fenders. Will do all that and change bunk boards and add bunk slicks at the same time.

Used pneumatic grease gun to fill the bearing buddies. DO NOT MAKE THIS MISTAKE. Huge mess. I've washed it twice and it's still squirting grease.
