Rather shoot shad than a 7ft gar.......Thats what all the people that never killed a big gar say.LOL
Its obvious you have been fishing longer than I, but wouldnt you have to agree that it takes more skill to hit a 5 inch shad swimming 25mph than a 7 foot aligator gar "dry backing" in one of your private oxbows..FYI I have pulled lots of river aligator gar over the side of the boat

That clean one was pretty cool.I stabbed it down through the middle of the back about 20' from where that pic was taken before hitting the bank. There's 217 shad in this tub that me and Sticknmo shot one night. He usually gets board with killing them pretty quick and we wind up looking for other stuff to shoot at or we could kill a whole lot more.

Awesome pic - it is amazing how many uses there are for the cattle mineral buckets - lol

ps go to MO - those are some monster shad

They got some even bigger down in Arkie land. We've killed some down there that make these look like babies.Yeah I like my mineral tubs. They take up a little more floor space than the square totes do but I get these free.:tu:

i hate shooting shad they are nasty!!!!! plus i can't hit'em For better outdoors take a kid hunting & fishing it's our future. Randy

After all this rain we should be able to get back where we killed them at. No promise I won't get bored in a hour though.lol

I've only ever killed one shad, decent sized, in MO once again. good luck.

Pretty sure Jc, Keith, and Marty shot over 450 shad at a tournament last year, hopefully one of them will chime in..I think it may have been closer to 540..
